Can you smell what Turtle Rock is cookin?

Back 4 Blood Co-Op Preview

Earlier this week we had the opportunity to check out Back 4 Blood, the latest from Turtle Rock Studios. During their sneak peek event we played through a PVP session and a lengthy co-op campaign. My initial thought was "how do you improve on a pillar of co-op gaming like Left 4 Dead?" After playing for a couple hours, I can say it has a lot of cool things going for it.

Larian Studios' "return to RPG roots" looks promising

Divinity Original Sin Hands-On Co-Op Preview

Larian Studios is best known for the Divinity series of games set in the fantastical realm of Rivellon. Each entry has been a little different than the last, with the most recent entry being a tactical/turn-based strategy affair. The next entry, Divinity Original Sin, is their “return to roots” with a more “classic” style of computer RPGs with the added benefit of co-op play. The game is currently in an Early Access Alpha version on Steam and we’ve gotten our paws on it to get a preview of what Larian has in store for gamers on this one.

History kicks butt

Second Chance Heroes Hands-On Preview

What do you get when you mix historical figures from across the centuries and continents with a semi-humorous and semi-pointed message about the world’s excesses leading to its demise? To be quite honest, I’m not entirely sure, but Rocket City Studios has given us Second Chance Heroes as one possible interpretation. Blending a comic-book style with four-player action co-op, its an interesting beast, but one that has a good deal of promise.

PAX East 2013 - Diablo 3 (PS3) Hands-On Preview

This past weekend at PAX East 2013, I had a chance to try out the PS3 version of Diablo 3, complete with a reworked interface and new console-specific features. I’m pretty familiar with the PC version of Diablo 3, having capped out my monk and making it all the way through the second act of Inferno. Due to a myriad of factors, however, I haven’t touched the game since a couple months after the PC version released. I picked up the PS3 version of Diablo 3 expecting to be met with the same feeling of semi-apathy that I currently feel for the PC version of the game. To my complete shock, however, I came away quite impressed.

Eurogamer Expo 2012 – Nintendo WiiU Special

The leaves are a changing colour and it is even wetter than normal here in olde England, which can only mean one thing – the Eurogamer Expo!  It may have happened at the end of September this year, but better late than never I say and I got to play several co-op titles on the Nintendo WiiU.  Check out hands on previews of Rayman Legends, Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U.
