New Screens and Videos for Anarchy Reigns, Sega's Online Multiplayer Fighting Game

Platinum Games, the makers of such over-the-top titles as Mad World, Vanquish, and Bayonetta have a new action extravaganza coming our way this fall.  Anarchy Reigns will feature of the return of Mad World's ultra-violent protagonist, Jack, in glorious living color.  We originally announced Anarchy Reigns, then known as Max Anarchy, this past January.  We haven't covered the game much, mainly because we didn't know how the co-operative elements would play out.  Some developers consider team-bases-versus modes "co-operative," but it appears that Anarchy Reigns will have an actual co-op versus AI mode.

A player count hasn't been established yet, but judging from the preview video at least 4 people can team up in a survivor mode.  Platinum Games and Sega have yet to release all of the multiplayer details.  According to Sega's website:

ANARCHY REIGNS™ is a heavy-hitting, action packed multiplayer brawler that puts players in the middle of the battle simultaneously. The game includes a diverse range of multiplayer modes to provide players with different challenges, including Tag Team battles and Battle Royal, where players can challenge others in a full-on fight for victory.

We know that the game is a third-person brawler with online support.  In the videos and screenshots we can see player characters fighting AI and each other.  The third video has some footage from Anarchy Reigns survivor mode.  The rest of the videos are just awesome.  You can be sure that we'll let you know as soon as we have more co-op details.

Anarchy Reigns is set for a fall release.  It will be available on the PS3 and Xbox 360.  As of right now, the game supports three player online co-op.

That's cool, but we want more.

That's better.  What about co-op?

Things get real interesting at the 4:30 mark.
