Anarchy Reigns dropped in North America yesterday. The online multiplayer brawler has been out in Japan since last July, but it's new to most of us. I played a few hours (okay, several hours) with some of the Co-Optimus staff last night and we had a damn good time.
Last month we told you about about the extra content coming to those of you who pre-order Anarchy Reigns, the massive online brawler. If you pre-order the game from Gamestop you'll get access to Bayonetta as a playable character, as well as two new multiplayer modes. Yup, it's another one of those pesky deals exclusive to GameStop. Them's the breaks.
Anarchy Reigns just keeps getting better and better. Today Sega announced Limited Edition copies of the game will come with Day One DLC. The bonus for pre-ordering the game nets fans Bayonetta as a playable character as well as two new mulitplayer game modes. ...
Remember Anarchy Reigns? Of course you do! Who could forget these videos? The giant online multiplayer brawler came out in Japan a few months ago, and it's heading to the US early next year. Like all Platinum Games projects, this title features insane action. Like, certifiably insane action. I played the demo and got my butt kicked repeatedly. I kind of loved it.
Terrible news, everyone. Anarchy Reigns, Sega's 16 player brawl-a-rama, has been pushed to 2013. At least two Co-Optimus staff members have gone from "bummed" to "distraught." The worst thing is developer Platinum Games says the game is "finished, localized, and ready to go." Sega has other plans:
In "delayed" news, Anarchy Reigns has been delayed in North America and Europe. Platinum Games broke the bad news last week on their website, saying that Sega had changed the scheduled release date to TBC. At least two Co-Optimus staff members are "totally bummed." The launch date remains unchanged in Japan, where Anarchy Reigns (known there as Max Anarchy) is still scheduled for a July 5th release. Man, they get all the good stuff first.
Earlier this week we brought you some crazy videos featuring the three Rin assassin sisters from Anarchy Reigns. Today, we have two dozen more screens from the multiplayer fighting game. Most of the game's impressive roster is well represented. Jack Cayman and Co. are dishing out pain by the bucketload. I don't know what's happening in the header image, but Durga's mechanical foot looks like it means business.
What's that I see? Is that a woman dual-wielding flaming fans about to start a fight with oncoming traffic? It must be time for an Anarchy Reigns update!
Last September, it was revealed at the Tokyo Game Show that Sega's new fighting/brawler hybrid, Anarchy Reigns, would feature two campaigns. The White story centers on newcomer Leo, while the Black side focuses on Jack, the Madworld veteran. Siliconera has recently dug up two new trailers from developer Platinum Games which showcase the first stage from both campaigns.
Anarchy Reigns, the over the top, stylized action game we have come to expect from Platinum Games has finally found a realease date. Platinum announced the date on their Facebook page, which confirms that the game will be released this summer.
Anarchy Reigns is picking up a sexy new character -- if you're into the whole sultry-librarian-witch-who-wears-a- bodysuit-made-out-of-her-own-hair-while-quad-wielding-pistols sort of thing. Then again, who isn't? While it's not exactly Bayonetta 2, Anarchy Reigns will allow players to step into the weave witch's ballistic heels while brawling with several other insanely unique (or uniquely insane) characters.
Anarchy Reigns, Sega's online multiplayer fighting game, has been pushed to July 3rd. The game was originally expected to be out in January, but it has been moved back so that Platinum Games can make it "longer and larger." Platinum has been responsible for some crazy, over the top games of late, including Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Madworld.
I've been trying to figure out exactly what the heck is going on in these Anarchy Reigns videos. Two men with different intentions, but the same goal, arrive in the ruined city of Altambra. They're looking for some sort of mystery man. And then the "usual suspect are ready." "Usual suspects?" Which one is usual? The robot bull with the jet powered hammer? The tiger man with his gun leg? What about the hulkified-pig-man, or the transformer? I'm done trying to figure it out. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the show.
Anarchy Reigns' rarely seen Survival Mode has made an appearance. The latest trailer from Gamescom 2011 is as over the top as ever. It features a four player deathmatch and a three player survival mode. After a minute and a half of gratuitous, juicy violence they all take a break and play baseball, or something. Japan is crazy. I played the game at E3 and it was a hot mess. It was a fun hot mess, but sloppy all the same. We'll see if they've worked out all the kinks when the game comes to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 this January.
Two new characters have joined the roster of Anarchy Reigns. A few days ago we brought you the Durga video. It featured a tiger man with a revolver cannon leg. I'm not kidding. The next two guys are even more bizarre. First we have Oinkie. He's a giant pig man who knows Kung Fu. I'm still not kidding. In fact, I'm just getting started. Wait until you see Oinkie after he juices up. Once he's properly 'roided he turns into the love child of Killer Croc, Bane, and bacon. Following that we have Garuda, who looks like a Robotech mech that drunkenly stumbled into the wrong damn game. Upon getting his bearings he just said "Screw it" and started killing up everything he saw. There's even a "Hide your wife" reference in his video. This game gets more insane everyday. I can't wait to see where they go from here.
