How many maps for Horde or Beast mode?

There are 10 maps that are playable in Horde or Beast mode.

 

How many Campaign Acts and Chapters?

There are 30 chapters across 5 acts.

 

Does Gears support split screen play? How many players?

You can play 2 player split screen. The sceen is split horizontally.

 

Is splitscreen with online play supported? (Combo Co-Op)

Yes, but both players must have Live Gold subscriptions

 

Is LAN or System-Link play supported?

Yes, you can play any of the modes via LAN for the supported number of players.

 

How many players are supported in co-op play?

You can play 4 players through the campaign in co-op.  You can play 5 players in Horde or Beast mode.

 

What new weapons are there?

Retro Lancer *
Sawed-Off Shotgun *
One Shot (heavy rifle that kills anything in one shot)
Incendiary Grenade
Digger Launcher (Boomshot that fires burrowing mortars)
* can be set as default

 

Are there any updates to existing weapons?

The Hammerburst now has iron sights (hold Left trigger and click Right analog stick)

 

How does campaign progress save for co-op players?

If you are not the host, your progress is saved at chapter checkpoints. Host players retain invidividual checkpoint progression.

 

How are collectibles acquired?

Any player that picks up a collectible (COG tag, paper, etc) picks it up for all players. If you already have a collectible in a co-op game, you do not see it.

 

Does the AI take over in the campaign if two,three or four players aren’t present?

Yes

 

Can I choose a difficulty that is different than my co-op teammates?

Yes.

 

Is there match making in the co-op modes?

Yes, all modes support match making.

 

Are bots available in co-op games?

While the AI takes over during versus games and the campaign, they are not present in Horde and Beast modes.
