Borderlands Save Game Data Will Unlock Exclusive Gear in Borderlands 2

News
Twitter facebook googlebuzz

Well, this is pretty self-explanatory. If you have save game data on your system from the original Borderlands, you'll unlock exclusive heads and skins in Borderlands 2.  Can you name the heads? I bet you can! I'm going to Gunzerk this game so hard.

The outfits remind me of my three favorite food groups: ketchup, mustard, and bacon. To be fair, everything reminds me of bacon. As usual, the ninja gets the coolest outfit. Damn ninjas. Hoggin' up all sexy style.

Borderlands 2 supports two player local co-op, four player online co-op, and combo co-op. It comes out on September 18th on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. Nothing else matters in 2012.

I just knew they were gonna do this. Not sure what to make of the bonuses... I usually prefer the stock standard model to remain in character. Would have preferred a gun, mod or shield or even extra skill points but I guess something is better than nothing.

I was wondering what we'd get, this isn't overly amazing, I may end up getting it on PC even though I have 1 on 360.

@Shardik
I owned the first borderlands on 360 at first, and then picked up the GOTY edition on PC when steam was selling it for $7.00. Not every game is much better on PC, but this one definitely is. The biggest advantage in my opinion is the view distance (I found the 360 version hard on my eyes at times due to everything being fuzzy when it's further away than about 50yards), but the precision of mouse aiming and sharper overall graphics definitely are a bonus too.

the pc version had horrible sometimes-not-working DRM tho, like it would randomly reset after a patch and you'd have to go into the folder and use the tool to manually activate the DLC again, ugh brings back painful memories. The graphics, view distance, modding, and Everything else was better tho for sure on PC, well once you turned off mouse smoothing in the config file too.

I'm cool with the skins, its something that I can get use of later on and not feel like a dumb exclusive bonus like in borderlands 1 with the gamestop guns that were useful for all of 2 minutes.

My wife and I played on PS3 and had constant freezing issues, so I reserved it for my 360(which we just got)... now Im hesitant to risk playing on PS3 just to get some cool stuff versus a possible freeze-free play through. Anyon eelse have freezing issues on PS3 or 360?

I have in the past compared some PS3 to Xbox multi-platform games and usually sided with the PS3 - mostly because of better graphics, better lag-free connections, and fewer idiots to play with.

Borderlands is definitely much better on Xbox, one of my rare exceptions. I ran into PS3 freeze-ups a plenty on the DLCs (Moxxie was the worst for it.) The biggest difference was the online crowd. The PS3 online play was sub-par in connection quality, and the other players in public play were complete asshats.

This for Xbox to me is a done deal. I'm not even going to waste time on PS3 with this one.

As usual, another informative AND funny article from Cubninja. Maybe you should change your name to BaconNinja.
