Denis Dyack Calls out Forum over Too Human

Denis Dyack (pictured above) has called out popular internet forum NeoGaf.  Apparently "the Gaf" has plenty of doubters of Too Human, so Dyack threw down the proverbial gauntlet.  His decree?  If you're confident the game will be a letdown, state your belief unequivocally in the thread. If, after finally playing it, you turn out to be right, Dyack has agreed to accept the forum tag "Owned by the GAF." If the haters are wrong they will have to accept the tag "Owned by Too Human."

Leaked Gears of War 2 Beta Footage

Gears of War is one of the finest co-op titles you will find, and the upcoming sequel looks even more promising.  A couple videos have been leaked, and they supposedly show some gameplay from the beta of GoW 2.  You can check them both out after the break.

Lord of the Rings: Conquest Trailer is Spiffy

Actually, spiffy may not be the right word.  You can check the trailer for Lord of the Rings: Conquest out for yourself here, and choose your own word to describe it.  The fact that four players can play through the campaign cooperatively via split-screen or online had us watching the title closely.  Given the fact that you can also play through as the bad guys?  That just puts it over the top.  Maiming hairy footed halflings with a buddy for an evening sounds like fun to me.  Hobbits, you are going down!

This Week In Co-Op: Assault Heroes (Casual Games Edition)

Sometimes, you just don't have the time to get knee deep in a game like Crackdown or GTA IV. That's where XBLA comes in handy. With its multitude of great arcade games, Xbox Live Arcade serves as a great balance for the hardcore gamer in all of us. This week I've had barely any time to game, and that's when XBLA came in to save the day with the wonderfully fun Assault Heroes.

Castle Crashers Gains Skeleton and Ninja

It's no secret that at Co-Optimus, we love us some Castle Crashers. In the past few days, the hard working team at The Behemoth have finished the game, and only the time-consuming process that is certification stands between us and some castle crashing. To tide us over, however, the Castle Crashers team has revealed a few more characters, two to be specific. The two characters in question are a bow and arrow wielding Skeleton and a sword (and mug) wielding Ninja. So hit up the Character section of the Castle Crashers site to see some great screens of two characters that are joining the eclectically awesome cast of Castle Crashers.

Call of Duty World at War Co-Op Details Emerge

While we already knew that Call of Duty: World at War would feature co-op play, what we didn't know was the details and the platforms it would be available on.  Activision has sent out an official press releasing with the information we've been craving.   The PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 versions of the game will all feature an online 4-player co-op mode, while the 360 and PS3 version will also feature a 2-player offline splitscreen mode.  If that wasn't cool enough in it's own right, we've learned that the co-op mode will feature the same addictive Perks System that made Call of Duty 4 so popular.
