A sin-sational cooperative RPG

Divinity: Original Sin Preview

Larian Studios are known for crafting thoughtful RPG’s. They have created wonderful games in the Divinity series, and the upcoming Divinity: Dragon Commander appears to push the envelope in strategy gaming. Returning to their roots, Larian has taken a traditional RPG and centered it around the meaningful interactions of players as the cornerstone. This game, which we have been following closely for some time, is Divinity: Original Sin. As a cooperative experience, we have taken a great interest in this title due to the fact that the greatest gaming immersion will come out of playing with another person.

Hands-on with the competitive mode; details about the co-op mode

PAX East 2013 - Dungeon Defenders II Preview

At PAX East 2013 last weekend, I had the opportunity to sit down and play a round of the competitive mode of Dungeon Defenders II (henceforth DD2). I also got to talk to Philip Asher (Marketing Director and Designer), a.k.a. pmasher. While the co-op mode of DD2 is still mostly under wraps, Philip was able to give me some details on it which I’ll gladly share with you guys. Let’s first talk a bit about the competitive mode that I played.

Tabletop Co-Op: Zombicide

Once again, it’s time for us to delve into the world of tabletop gaming. We’ve seen the rise of cooperative concepts in video games in recent years, and there is a similar pattern in board and card gaming. Today, we’ll consider one of the most popular board games released last year, the highly thematic and gorgeously produced Zombicide.

Strange looking turtles, but solid looking gameplay

Gameplay and Commentary on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows

A little bit of gameplay footage has been released from the upcoming brawler Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, complete with commentary from some of IGN's finest. The game is still in pre-alpha but is coming along quite nicely, sporting a visual style that leans closer to the modern incarnation of the TMNT crew but with gameplay geared towards those who grew up with the original turtles, a.k.a. the only real TMNT. That's right, we said it.

Mossmouth Announces Spelunky's Arrival on PS3 and PS Vita

It's obvious that most video games aren’t quite as challenging these days, even at their highest difficulty setting. Certain games that make players throw their controllers out the window surely stand out from the rest, and that’s why Spelunky is such a highly addictive game. PlayStation fans will be happy to know that their versions of Spelunky will be arriving on the PlayStation Network this summer.

PAX East 2013 - Diablo 3 (PS3) Hands-On Preview

This past weekend at PAX East 2013, I had a chance to try out the PS3 version of Diablo 3, complete with a reworked interface and new console-specific features. I’m pretty familiar with the PC version of Diablo 3, having capped out my monk and making it all the way through the second act of Inferno. Due to a myriad of factors, however, I haven’t touched the game since a couple months after the PC version released. I picked up the PS3 version of Diablo 3 expecting to be met with the same feeling of semi-apathy that I currently feel for the PC version of the game. To my complete shock, however, I came away quite impressed.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Co-Op Review

Monster Hunter games have always piqued our curiosity due to their massive bestiary and strong co-op community, but we haven't put one through its paces before. That's about to change, as we've checked out both the WiiU and 3DS versions of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Will the co-op goodness shine through, or will we be stuck grinding for materials? Let's find out!

So many pretty things to look at.

Vanillaware's Dragon's Crown Releasing This Summer

If there's one thing we can say about Dragon's Crown, it's that it's a gorgeous, gorgeous game. If there's two things, it's that the 11 month silence since Atlus rescued the game has been a long wait. The sidescrolling brawler created by Vanillaware is one part Golden Axe and one part Castle Crashers, although most will agree that the artwork is what's really going to draw some attention.
