You know how you hear about a game before release and you just can't contain your excitement? The agony of waiting, it can be unbearable. Gvoid aims to take the edge off of that with Inviolate: Prologue, a teaser of sorts for the upcoming sci-fi RPG that includes our favorite feature of all, co-op.
War used to be so expensive. Back in the day, you had your horses and your swords, each of which were worth upwards of twenty gold coins. Then, you had your thousand-dollar artillery shells and landmines. Finally, countries decided they just couldn't get by without dropping a couple million bones on stealth bombers. It's hard to believe how cheap things are these now in comparison. For instance, if you were to log onto the Humble Bundle website sometime in the next twelve days, you could basically buy the entirety of World War 2 for ten bucks.
Please stay behind the yellow line. The drama train is pulling into the station. Sven, a co-op mod for the original Half-Life, has been around for just under two decades. Earlier this year the much beloved mod got a free standalone release, an act that, as it turns out, would bring to light controversies building between the community and the development team.
Nvidia has really been pushing its Shield brand as a way to get your game on. We're not talking about flinging birds or ninjaing fruit, either, we're talking real games. Case in point: Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is now available for Nvidia Shield Android TV, and yeah, it's got co-op!
The latest Humble Bundle has a handful of games us co-op gamers will want to take a look at. The collection is filled with strategy games from Sega, which means we get a whole lot of warfor not a whole lot of cash.
Announced during last year's E3, the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is now available on Windows 10 via the Windows Store. The game is a remake of the original title on the PC - meaning that the bonus content that was on that version is here - with better graphics and multiplayer fixes that are more in line with later versions.
Developer Robot Entertainment is celebrating "Orc Week," a holiday with which I'm wholly unfamiliar but hey, just go with it. During this time, all Orcs Must Die! games are on sale with a whopping 90% off discount. That means you can get Orcs Must Die! 2 for just $1.50, or you can get a two-pack (for you and a friend) of the "Complete" edition (i.e., the game and all DLC) for just $3.99. What savings!
It's been 17 years since the Sven co-op mod for the original Half-Life was released. What were you doing with your life back then? Probably worrying about Y2K or celebrating the newly-established euro currency. After official permission was handed down by Valve, the mod finally has its own dedicated spot on Steam. And best of all, it's free.
Back in July 2014, Co-Optimus wrote a little story all about a giant basketball player called Shaquille O'Neal who was having a new Shaq-Fu game made. Fast forward 18 months and nothing was heard about Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn until now. A new trailer for the game has been announced and at this point it feels like it should be known as Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, Reborn Again.
The team down at Creative Assembly must have a grim view on history. They've spent the better part of a decade and a half chronicling mankind's legacy as one giant brawling bloodbath, and probably won't stop until every notable period is steeped in gore. They couldn't handle the gap between the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages being free of strife, so they made Total War: Attila to prove that even in the 5th Century you could still hurl hundreds of dudes to their heavy cavalry-related deaths with relative ambivalence. Now they've closed that gap even further with the announcement of Attila's first expansion: The Age of Charlemagne, out December 10th.
When I first lost myself in the world of Rivellon last year, it was a fun trip, though one I never quite finished. With the release of Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, I believe I will be seeing that journey through to the end.
Update: We've just been informed the GoG version hasn't been released yet!
