War's never been so cheap.

The Latest Humble Bundle Offers A Whole Big Thing Of Company Of Heroes

War used to be so expensive.  Back in the day, you had your horses and your swords, each of which were worth upwards of twenty gold coins.  Then, you had your thousand-dollar artillery shells and landmines.  Finally, countries decided they just couldn't get by without dropping a couple million bones on stealth bombers.  It's hard to believe how cheap things are these now in comparison.  For instance, if you were to log onto the Humble Bundle website sometime in the next twelve days, you could basically buy the entirety of World War 2 for ten bucks.

Can't we all just co-op instead?

Friction Builds Between Sven Co-Op Developers and Community

Please stay behind the yellow line. The drama train is pulling into the station. Sven, a co-op mod for the original Half-Life, has been around for just under two decades. Earlier this year the much beloved mod got a free standalone release, an act that, as it turns out, would bring to light controversies building between the community and the development team.

The game that would not die

What the Fu? A New Shaq-Fu Trailer!

Back in July 2014, Co-Optimus wrote a little story all about a giant basketball player called Shaquille O'Neal who was having a new Shaq-Fu game made.  Fast forward 18 months and nothing was heard about Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn until now.  A new trailer for the game has been announced and at this point it feels like it should be known as Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, Reborn Again.

Send everyone to their deaths in a brand new historical period!

Total War: Attila Goes Medieval With Charlemagne Expansion

The team down at Creative Assembly must have a grim view on history. They've spent the better part of a decade and a half chronicling mankind's legacy as one giant brawling bloodbath, and probably won't stop until every notable period is steeped in gore. They couldn't handle the gap between the Roman Empire and the Middle Ages being free of strife, so they made Total War: Attila to prove that even in the 5th Century you could still hurl hundreds of dudes to their heavy cavalry-related deaths with relative ambivalence. Now they've closed that gap even further with the announcement of Attila's first expansion: The Age of Charlemagne, out December 10th.

The lives of men, women, and briefcases everywhere are at stake.

Start Your Week Off With A Little Co-Op Bomb Defusal

Okay, here's the scenario:  you wake up in a room.  It's a little too dark to tell, but it seems like you're surrounded by concrete walls.  In front of you is a table with a manila folder, a faulty alarm clock, and a briefcase.  The lights come on.  You notice that the briefcase is covered in little puzzles.  Your friends to begin chirping in your ear, something about wires and buttons and comedy sketches from the 1930's.  Your eyes scan the myriad of blinking objects covering the briefcase and... oh.  Oh no.  There's a timer.
