Keep the pedal to the floor on those party chat complaints in Modern Warfare 2! According to Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling, they hear you loud and clear on the complaints from the community. Whether hearing is the same as acting, well that's yet to be seen, but for those of you annoyed by the lack of party chat options in certain multiplayer play lists on the Xbox 360 - scream to the heavens:
"For the love of Soap MacTavish give us our party chat!"
The lack of party chat was done in part to prevent cheaters in different multiplayer game types. Basically these punks would jump onto the opposing team calling out their teammates positions to their friends on the other team in party chat. For most of us, we're unaffected by this decision because we're too busy playing Spec-Ops in co-op!

Resident Evil 5 was an early co-op hit this year. As you'd expect for a title so popular, quite a bit of extra content is headed your way soon. The PS3-exclusive "Alternative Edition" is coming soon, and will include all the DLC listed below, plus compatibility with Sony's forthcoming motion controlling doohickey. (Pretty sure that won't be the final name.) Xbox 360 owners and those who already own RE5 for PS3 can also download this content.

And so after a lot of teasing, we finally get the official announcement. Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days is under development for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and set to release next year from developer IO Interactive.
The game follows our "heroes" Kane and Lynch through the gritty Shanghai underworld. Dog Days is said to be inspired by documentary film makers and the user generated era in terms of style. Perhaps that is why we've seen some interesting perspectives in the teaser videos up to this point. In fact we've got a new one today called "Bowling for Shanghai" posted below. We're promised a fresh perspective on intensity and realism.
No other details of the game were given but Niels Jorgenson, IO Interactive's general manager, has stated that feedback from the first game helped shape the sequel. Lets hope they listened to us when we asked for online co-op play.

Do Androids Dream of Fake Plastic Turntables?
The sales numbers for DJ Hero are in, and they are disappointing at best. 122,300 copies of the game were sold across all platforms. That's very low for a music game, especially one that was as heavily promoted as DJ Hero. Ars Technica attempted to explain the low sales, and fans of co-op will likely appreciate this particular reason:
Rhythm games work best with crowds, and DJ Hero is a solitary experience. That's not a knock against it; playing the game is great fun. It's just hard to share with others, compared to the more popular Rock Band and Guitar Hero franchises.
In other words, the lack of a compelling co-op mode may have been a factor in the game's lack of sales. Music games seem to work best in a party setting, and DJ Hero just doesn't work due to the single-player focus. Other reasons are listed in the article, but it just goes to show you that co-op is a major selling point for any game, especially one in a genre known for excellent co-op.

What may be lost amongst a solid fall season of games is the family friendly title LEGO Indiana Jones 2: The Adventure continues. Out now for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC - the game supports two player local cooperative play through the whole adventure with drop-in and drop-out play.
The truly unique thing about the title is a cooperative level builder mode much like Little Big Planet provides, except with LEGOs! Just don't make anything with snakes in it, even LEGO Indy hates snakes!

Spyborgs may look slick and modern, but beneath all the gloss, it is a very old school brawler. For gamers who enjoy beat em ups, Spyborgs is a decent experience, combining modern graphics and control schemes with older, familiar gameplay elements.

It may look beautiful, but this floating rock is a battleground in Chaos Rising
The first developer diary has been released for Dawn of War 2's expansion pack called Chaos Rising. The five minute video covers quite a bit about the game, giving us a good overview of what to expect when it hits the PC next March.
The corruption system, the in game mechanic to choose between good and evil, is explained in greater detail - showing you the benefits or negatives of choosing between one or the other. Also detailed is a new hero unit named Jonah the Librarian, who not only has new weapons and armor, but offers the unique ability to morph spells into different types.
We get a glimpse at the new environments and a bit of the backstory as well. Overall the expansion pack looks to be shaping up nicely, the only problem I see now is - it's not March yet.

It's time for another monthly Games for Windows Co-Op Night, and this month things have gotten evil. We're taking Capcom's Resident Evil 5 onto the town this Friday night for a date with the dead. Or undead. Or diseased. Anyway, read on to find out how to join.

Co-op moves are back in Army of Two: The 40th Day, and this video shows them all. From co-op tag and snipe to riot shield to mock surrender, your favorite buddy tactics from the first game can now be performed anytime, any place.
When you're done watching the video - which we've embedded here for your viewing convenience - check out the official blog for a recap of the recent multiplayer preview blowout, including the Extraction four-player survival mode.
Finally, treat yourself to a new wallpaper while you're there.

Electronic Arts has announced an official release date for the upcoming RTS game on the PC, Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight. The two player co-op title will hit on March 16th bringing to conclusion the epic Tiberium saga.
You can pre-order the game now to get exclusive access into the beta, the soundtrack and a prequel bonus mission. C&C 4 adds a brand new RPG-like system where players earn experience for all campaign and multiplayer actions creating a persistent commander character. The entire campaign is playable in 2 player co-op as well.
Gametrailers unveiled the first look at the game in action. It's explosive to say the least.
