It's really no secret, we know you've been logging away hours on Gears of War 2, and want something fresh but similar to feast on. So - what if I told you that Codemasters, the creators of some interesting sleeper hits, such as Overlord, and Rise of the Argonauts, has announced a game that boasts to be similar to Gears of War 2, but let you wear more cowboy hats and draw pistols Wild West style? You know you're at least a bit curious.
If you recall, our review of Guitar Hero World Tour was somewhat mixed. The game itself was slightly disappointing when compared to Rock Band 2, but the hardware, particularly the drum set, was quite a bit nicer than the Harmonix offering. Perhaps you've been wanting to try the GH drums out, but couldn't justify buying the bundled microphone and guitar controller too. Your lucky day is coming, on February 15th to be exact.

Late last year the Co-Optimus crew dug deep into Sacred 2: Fallen Angel for the PC. It was an indepth Action/RPG from European developer Ascaron. Now several months later both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are getting their own versions of the game, nearly identical to the PC counterpart.

According to the official Sega America blog, Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP has had its release date moved up to March 3rd, 2009! PSP on the PSP (huh?) was released in Japan last year and has been undergoing translation, localization and updates for a March 24th release date. But I hear they hired the guy that translated Zero Wing so the game will be done a few weeks early!
The co-op releases keep on rolling out this week! Puzzler Lonpos is available on WiiWare this week. The game was a launch title for WiiWare in Japan, so it has definitely been a while in coming. Lonpos allows two players to take turns placing pieces in the ever-diminishing open spots. It looks like Tetris meets Mancala, doesn't it? The game will set you back 800 points and is available now! Several new videos from White Knight Chronicles are up at Gametrailers.com. The game, an RPG from Factor 5, invaded Playstation 3 consoles in Japan in late 2008, and is due to hit the US in late March. At first, the big draw for the game was the epic single player campaign, featuring a character who transformed into a giant, mecha-esque White Knight, as pictured above. That alone made the game interesting. However, we here at Co-Optimus are more interested in the four player online co-op mode, announced much later in the game's development.
