Halo Trilogy Soundtrack Coming Soon

It's not co-op, but the game it's based on is.  Amazon is now listing the Halo Trilogy soundtrack as shipping December 2nd.  The box set will contain all 5 discs from Halo, Halo 2 and Halo 3.  It'll set you back just shy of $30, but it's a small price to pay for one of the best original scores in video game music.

Halo 3: Recon Tidbits in New Game Informer

The latest issue of Game Informer has some details on upcoming Halo 3 expansion, Recon.  We don't have the actual issue in our hands yet, but halo.bungie.org has a few details from the article, and I do mean few.  It turns out Recon may be shorter than many would like.  We're talking about "a three to five-hour expansion pack", according to Paul Betone.  Before you get all up in arms, consider this quote:

Would You Buy Co-Op Expansion Packs?

That's the question EA wants to know.  While nothing is set in stone yet, EA is toiling with the idea of having seperate expansions for the game that are specific to what a player wants. The idea came up for the recently released Red Alert 3, and looks like it could actually happen.  Examples of this would be a single player story expansion, or a multiplayer map pack expansion, or even a co-op expansion.

This Week in Co-Op: Left 4 Dead Demo

I don't quite know how to start this article. However, that's really a good thing. Frankly there are too many cool features, "OMG" moments, and cinematic moments for me to be able to quickly and smoothly start this article. Heck, any one the aforementioned topics could easily take up an entire article. I guess all I can really say is that this week, I played the Left 4 Dead demo on the Xbox 360.

Harmonix: Guitar Hero World Tour Music Studio "Half-Arsed"

The music studio feature was one of the most highly anticipated things about recently released Guitar Hero World Tour.  If you read our review, you know that we found the studio a bit lacking, to say the least.  It may not be quite what we were promised, but hey, the competition doesn't have it at all right?  Videogamer recently spoke to Rock Band 2 lead designer Dan Teasdale about GH WT's music creation tools.  What did he have to say?

House of the Dead Overkill Ooozes More Than Just Blood

That's right, the 2 player co-op shooter for the Wii ooozes style.  With a film grain look, pops and scratches, and a new art style, the whole game is a semi-reboot of the series.  Sega created the game from the ground up to take advantage of the Wii hardware,  and while the game is still an on-rails shooter for the most part, there is some freedom in movement of the camera using the Wii-mote.   Unfortunately according to the Eurogamer preview, in it's current state, it's somewhat broken for co-op play.
