Get Those Gears Achievements Now

We know you're probably looking forward to the release of Gears of War 2 this November.  However, it looks like you may want to pop in the original for a bit and make sure you've got all those achievements.  Joystiq gives us some information from the recent Comic-Con, straight from Cliff Bleszinski.  He announced that earning achievements from Gears 1 will unlock certain features in Gears 2, like extra playable characters, for example.  At this time, it is unknown which achievements he is referring to.  You may just want to get as many as possible in the meantime.  Personally, I think this is a pretty neat little bonus for those who have played the first game, though I certainly hope there's an alternate way to get these same features unlocked.

Geometry Wars 2: 3D Mode Hack

Xbox 360 Fanboy points out a unique little post in the Bizarre forums.  Someone found a small little hack that allows you to see what Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 would look like if it was fully 3D (which technically it is).   The trick is simple, simply press right bumper and the back button at anytime to enter a 3D mode.  The game pauses though, so you won't be able to actually play, but you can fly around and change the perspective for some neat screenshots.

Co-Op Classics: Serious Sam

This week in Co-Op Classics, I have to give a big thank you to Co-Optimus user wayspooled.  He recently posted a list of co-op games in the forums, and one of those games in particular got me all misty eyed when I saw it.  A glorious mix of Duke Nukem and shiny, real 3D graphics, Serious Sam was a seriously great game.

Too Human is Golden

With a release date fast approaching, Too Human has crossed another milestone. The game has officially gone gold, as reported by the Gamerscore Blog. This means that the game should meet it's August 19th release date. The game has gotten some mixed opinions, particularly as of late. So, if you do have some reservations about the game, make sure you play its demo. I still am excited about the game, not just because it comes out on my birthday. Anyone else interested in the "Diablo meets Norse Mythology" blend that is Too Human?

Get Lost in the Space Siege Demo

Fans of the PC series Dungeon Siege will be excited about this news.  A spinoff from the series, set in a science fiction setting, is coming soon, appropriately titled Space Siege.  The game will release on August 12, but in the meantime, you can check out the game's demo, here.  Space Siege will feature 4 player co-op, and is an action/rpg.  Play through it a bit, and decide if the full version is for you!

This Week in Co-Op: Rock Band

Rock Band might very well be the best co-op game available today. There, I said it. I wanted to avoid all possible hyperbole, but the fact is that my previous statement could be true. As I discovered this week, Rock Band has some serious co-op chops.

A Title to Feature ONLY Online Co-Op: Raven Squad

This just in from the "Eh?" department...  The rather generic yet still annoyingly long-titled 'Raven Squad: Operation Hidden Dagger' is coming soon to your Xbox.  Almost nothing is known about the game, save that it was a FPS, then a RTS, and now is a FPSRTS hybrid.  (Anyone got a spoon for that alphabet soup?)  XBox360Fanboy tells us that the first reports told of no support for Live at all!  Perhaps someone got smart and decided that if you are going to make a generic sounding game it better have some support for this generation's best feature: you know, the INTURWEB.  Al Gore would be happy to see that Live support was added in, and co-op to boot, which also means we'll actually follow this game here at Co-Optimus!
