Experience the first adventure of the River City Girls on modern platforms.

River City Girls Zero Co-op Review

The River City/Kunio series has seen numerous installments over the years, but precious few of them received English releases until a few years ago. Once Arc System Works took over the license from the defunct Technos, more games starring Kunio and his buddy Riki started making their way out of Japan. WayForward’s release of River City Girls ...

Upcoming physical editions will also mark the first English release of the PlayStation version

Strictly Limited Announces 'Snow Battle Princess Sayuki' for PlayStation and Switch

Earlier this year, Pocky & Rocky Reshrined arrived on consoles to great acclaim. We loved the game's story and artistry, but found the controls led to unnecessary challenge. Gamers might just have a similar experience when Strictly Limited Games publishes physical editions of Snow Battle Princess Sayuki on PlayStation and Switch. SBPS, which was originally intended to be a Pocky & Rocky sequel, has already been released in English on Switch, but the physical edition will be the first English release of the PlayStation version. Both versions will feature 2-player local co-op.

7 co-op titles are on the way for Switch owners

Co-Op Roundup - September 2022 Nintendo Direct

Ah, fall (in the Northern Hemisphere)... the weather starts to cool, the leaves begin to change, and the holiday video game releases loom on the horizon. While the start of summer typically marks developers and publishers hyping up the gaming community with big announcements for what's to come in a year (or two or three) via digital presentations and "Keigh3," the fall is when we usually get teasers of more immediate releases. For example, the September Nintendo Direct dropped yesterday and not only did it finally give a full name and release date for the next Zelda game (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, May 12, 2023), but there are four new co-op games, two remastered co-op games, and one existing co-op title that are coming to the Switch within the next 6 months.

Current-gen gamers can now enjoy the classic beat ‘em up that introduced the River City Girls!

River City Girls Zero Escapes Prison, Arrives on Xbox and PlayStation

First announced in the summer of 2021, River City Girls Zero arrived on Switch earlier this year. The wait for other platforms, however, has been much longer. At last, the Xbox and PlayStation versions of this retro beat ‘em up have arrived. River City Girls Zero is a lightly enhanced remake of a classic beat ‘em up in the River City/Kunio-kun series and also a prequel to WayForward’s modern River City Girls games. The new version is the first time the game has been officially available in English, and it features 2-player local co-op to boot.

Team up with a friend to battle spider/dinosaur monsters in this colorful shooter.

Spidersaurs Co-op Review

The 1980s and 90s were home to numerous cartoons that existed primarily to sell toys to kids. Shows like Dino Riders and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors featured bizarre/creative premises and plenty of merchandizing potential. WayForward draws from that legacy with Spidersaurs, a run-and-gun shooter with a goofy concept (genetically engineered spide...

That’s twice as much co-op as the first game!

River City Girls 2 Will Have 4-Player Co-op and Fearsome Foes

We swear we’re not specifically a River City Girls fan site – we cover other games too! This week has been loaded with news for the beloved beat ‘em up series, though. First, WayForward announced a release date for the console versions of River City Girls Zero, and then a date for the Steam version arrived a few days later. Now, WayForward has dropped a bombshell for River City Girls 2: the game will feature 4-player co-op! That’s going to make for some chaotic brawling when the game arrives later this year.

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for August 2022

Oh boy... It seems like the return of the Saints wasn't at all what fans and critics had hoped for. We have yet to play it ourselves, but the reviews and user ratings are less than favorable for the reboot. Luckily, it wasn't all bad for the studios of the Embracer Group - who are seemingly well on their way to owning all of the games and developers by next year. THQ Nordic's remake of Destroy All Humans! 2 - Reprobed is mostly hitting all the necessary buttons and looks to be a fun time.

PC gamers won't have to wait too much longer to bust some heads in this prequel.

River City Girls Zero Will Hit Steam on September 22, Shortly After Console Versions

At WayForward's recent pre-launch party for River City Girls Zero, the enhanced remake of the game that first introduced the titular River City Girls, the developer shared plenty of information and behind-the-scenes details about the upcoming game. We learned that the Xbox and PlayStation versions would be launching on September 13, for instance, and that the Steam port would come later. Not that much later, it turns out... RCG Zero's Steam version will arrive on September 22!
