Spelunker HD Deluxe Brings the Challenge on PlayStation and Switch

Classic 8-bit platformer Spelunker was remade and given the co-op treatment as Spelunker HD back in the PlayStation 3 days. Because that version of Spelunker HD can't be played on today's consoles, another remake makes perfect sense. Thus, ININ and Tozai Games have just released Spelunker HD Deluxe on PlayStation 4/5 and Nintendo Switch. Wi...

The Ascent Co-Op Review

In late 2020, CD Projekt Red released the long-awaited Cyberpunk 2077 to widespread disappointment. Mired by bugs and performance issues, the game simply wasn’t ready. Fast-forwarding to this summer, developer Neon Giant and Curve Digital have just released the cyberpunk sleeper hit action RPG The Ascent exclusively on Xbox and PC. By all acc...

PC gamers will finally get in on the bubble-blowing fun.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron's Workshop Heading to Steam with a Level Editor

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, the latest game in Taito's classic co-op arcade platformer series, released on PlayStation and Switch a while back and later received extra levels with 'The Baron is Back' update. The next logical step for Taito and publisher ININ would seem to be the release of Xbox and PC versions. Sadly, Taito continues to avoid showing Xbox any love, but a Steam version is finally happening. It will be called Bubble Bobble 4 Friends: The Baron's Workshop, and it will feature a brand-new level editor.

Can you smell what Turtle Rock is cookin?

Back 4 Blood Co-Op Preview

Earlier this week we had the opportunity to check out Back 4 Blood, the latest from Turtle Rock Studios. During their sneak peek event we played through a PVP session and a lengthy co-op campaign. My initial thought was "how do you improve on a pillar of co-op gaming like Left 4 Dead?" After playing for a couple hours, I can say it has a lot of cool things going for it.

These veterans know a thing or two about surviving zombie apocalypses.

The 'Left 4 Dead 2' Survivors Are Now Playable in Zombie Army 4

When Rebellion released the free 'Left 4 Dead Character Pack' for Zombie Army 4 in June, we suspected that it was only a matter of time until a character pack with the Left 4 Dead 2 characters followed. That has now come to pass - the new free DLC pack adds the four Left 4 Dead 2 survivors to Zombie Army 4 as playable ch...

The calm before autumn

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for July, 2021

It was nice to have a bit of breathing room at the start of July after the absolute crazyness that was June. The calm didn't last long however as in the second half of the month the release calender suddenly started to get full again culminating in three days at the end full of long awaited releases like Blightbound, Samurai Warriors 5, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin or The Ascent. It seemed like the industry went on a two-week-vacation and then decided they needed to complete the missed work in a single day.
