DrinkBox Studios announced earlier today that Guacamelee! will be getting new console versions of the game, all enhanced within a brand new edition. The Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition will be coming to consoles soon, so get your wrestling masks ready!

We had a chance to strap on the old luchador mask and wrestle our way through the Guacamelee! DLC. The new area puts Juan back into the land of the dead where he must suplex his way through hordes of skeletons.
A new flavor of luchador goodness has come to Guacamelee!, in the form of a DLC set in its own version of Mexican hell! “El Diablo’s Domain” gives players extended playtime with one fiendishly difficult level, additional challenge levels, and various costumes to wear.
If you walk around in a Chicken Suit in the real world, the only power you will get is the ability to be stared at by strangers. Thankfully, Guacamelee! is anything but the real world; instead it is a 2 player co-op side scrolling beat-em-up on PSN and Vita that now has new DLC in the form of three power providing suits. Other new DLC will allow players to swap characters mid-level for the first time; Cock-a-doodle-doo.
We haven't heard much about Guacamelee! since we saw it last fall at PAX Prime. The metroidvania style game where you take control of mutli-dimensional hopping luchadors and do what luchadors do - beat things up - is coming out next month on April 9th.
We had a chance to talk with Chris McQuinn from Drinkbox Studios at Penny Arcade Expo. They were showing off Guacamelee! which is based on something we all love, luchadores. Chris described the game as a "Metroidvania brawler" which features two player co-op, rooted in Mexican culture.
Welsh band Super Furry Animals, once sang to me that they needed medication for their sleep deprivation, GUACAMOLE! Firstly, there is no need to shout and secondly, I may have found a cure for their Mexican dip based insomnia in the form of Guacamelee! This 2 player local co-op platformer/action game is coming to PSN soon and appears to be as mental as that song.
