NeverDead DLC Coming Later This Month

NeverDead has been out for all of eight freaking days and new DLC has already been announced.   The deftly titled "Expansion Pack Volume 1" will be released on February 21st for $9.99 on the PSN, or 800 Microsoft funbucks on the XBLA.  It will include a new playable character for the game's co-op mode, additional challenges for the Asylum level, and new costumes for the main character, demon stomper Bryce Boltzman.

New Screens and Videos for NeverDead

Okay, that headline may be a little misleading.  The screens are new, but the videos aren't necessarily hot off the press. I noticed we have yet to post any videos from NeverDead, and with the game's upcoming release, it seems like a good opportunity to show you guys exactly what this game is all about.  I could just tell you about Bryce, the 500 year old demon hunter, and his uncanny ability to not die, but I think I'll just let you watch these vids instead. The first video is from E3 2010, and it captures the tongue-in-cheek tone of the game:

Give Bryce the "Desperate" ability or add more voice over jokes to the game

NeverDead to Have Some Silly DLC

Third-person shooter NeverDead isn't out yet, but folks looking forward to the game's release may be interested to learn about some recently announced DLC. The DLC will add some small, but silly, optional changes to the game. The first of these is the "Desperate" ability which can be equipped by protagonist Bryce Boltzman. This ability makes it so Bryce deals more damage as he loses more and more limbs. So look forward to shooting for additional damage as just a torso and an arm, or rolling Bryce's head around on the floor. The second ability, "Cowardly Word" will simply make Bryce utter more voice over jokes during gameplay. The DLC will come free to players who pre-order the game at select retailers.

E3 2011 Hands On Preview NeverDead

As many other gamers, when I hear the word “dead” in the title of an upcoming game I become a bit apprehensive. “Oh, another zombie game, whoop?” is how my brain often auto-reacts, and it was no different for NeverDead, an upcoming title from Konami. Interestingly enough, there isn’t really a single zombie in this game, and it’s the main character, Bryce, who is the subject of being "NeverDead." After a brief introduction to the game from a developer, I took my time with the 20 minute demo to get my hands all over Bryce and his very removable body parts.
