Get it now before it's gone forever

Sword Coast Legends is On Sale for the Last Time

In March of last year, n-Space, the developer behind Sword Coast Legends, was shut down. The game, though, continued on and even got released on consoles a few months later. Presumably, it was the publisher, Digital Extremes that keep things going. Now, though, it seems that that particular publishing contract has expired and so, on December 31, the title will be removed from all digital store fronts.

Sword Coast Legends Coming to Consoles this Spring

The console version of Sword Coast Legends, the latest attempt by developers to create a Dungeons and Dragon experience in video game format, will be arriving sometime this spring. The title first saw release on the PC last October and has received a fair amount of content in that time, all of which will be included in the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.

Sword Coast Legends Episode 1: Growing Up Grendy

Sword Coast Legends, released back in October, is an attempt by developers Digital Extremes and n-Space to hearken back to the days of yore.  A time when CRPGs were (sort of) turn-based, loot littered the ground like candy wrappers on a street after Halloween, and just about any Tom, Dick, and Harry could claim their right to be heroes of legend.

Check Out Eighty Minutes Of DM-Filled Sword Coast Legends Footage

Look, sometimes a life spent on the Sword Coast ain't easy.  Let's say, for example, that you're a poor, innocent innkeeper beset by marauding goblins.  You say, "Hey, goblins, what's up?", and they say, "Get lost, nerd."  You say, "Please stop attacking my inn", and they say, "Shut up, you're not our mom."  It's really frustrating, because not only are these goblins looting your storerooms, they're also being real jerks about the whole situation.

Sword Coast Legends Will Be Coming To Us Slightly Later Than Expected

Look, guys.  The long and short of the story is that Sword Coast Legends got bumped from its original PC release date of September 8th to the slightly further away September 29th.  This is a super bummer for those of us who had already begun building shrines to the dice gods in preparation.  As a wise man once said, though, "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."  It may not mean as much in the era of Early Access and insta-patches, but if getting the game a few weeks late means that I get the fully enjoy the experience right away, I am 100% down.

Learn To Maybe Not Hate Your DM In These New Sword Coast Legends Videos

DMs (short for Dungeon Masters) usually get a bad rap, and rightfully so.  Despite the rise of the role's "storyteller" aspect, decades upon decades of hidden traps, surprisingly cunning kobolds, and stealth-tarrasques have taken their toll upon the legions of poor, vulnerable tabletop gamers.  Sword Coast Legends, the upcoming co-op RPG from Digital Extremes, does much to dissuade this notion.
