Vampire Survivors is such an influential game that lots of games in the same style are popping up, but I bet you already knew that. Each game needs to differentiate itself with a unique theme. The recently released Outer Terror has a horror theme, for instance, and now Sunsoft's Ikki Unite has come along with a feudal Japanese setting. This one is a sequel to a classic Japanese arcade game, but it has lots of Vampire Survivors style and 16-player online co-op to make it appealing to modern gamers. After first appearing on Steam, Ikki Unite is now available on Switch as well.

In 1985, Sunsoft released a Japanese arcade game called Ikki. Many years later, a sequel has arrived in the form of Ikki Unite. The game depicts a feudal farming village that rises up to overthrow its evil overlords. Up to 16 players can team up online in the Steam version of Ikki Unite. Nintendo players will soon be able to join in the feudal fun when the Switch version arrives on April 18 courtesy of Sunsoft and Plug In Digital.

With the recent sale on the Civilization VI franchise over on Steam, a few of us decided to dive back into the now five year old title. There's been a solid steady stream of content added thanks to last year's New Frontiers Season Pass. On top of all of the new civilizations to choose from, there's a bunch of new rule sets and modifiers to keep the game feeling fresh.

Sid Meier's Civilization series has resided for most of its lifespan on the home computer.  Occasional dips into the console world were made here and there, but it really wasn't until Civilization VI arrived that the folks at Firaxis made a full effort at bringing their expansive civilization simulator to the non-PC realm.

Soldak's got a new action-RPG, Din's Legacy, and if you've ever played a Soldak game, it's definitely more of that particular style of "cRPG meets aRPG from the late 90s." Basically, if you've ever looked at Path of Exile and thought, "sure, but could there be MORE systems," then you really need to take a look at Soldak's catalog.

In a surprising announcement, the official Twitter account for Civilization VI announced that the game now features cross-save between Nintendo Switch and Steam PC games. All a player needs to do is sign up for a 2K (the game's publisher) account, check a checkbox, and then whatever wizards run the internet and the cloud will make sure your game is cross-platform saved, presto!

Ah, 2012, when the world was bright and the future was limitless.  What better way is there to exemplify this year's purity than to remember the release of Torchlight 2, a phenomenal action-looter-RPG?  Truly, those were blessed days.

UPDATE: The Enhanced Editions of Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2, and Icewind Dale do not support co-op or any multiplayer at this time. They are single-player games only. We have removed the console versions from our database. The original news post is below.

Final Days kicked of last week's Monday Night Stream, with Nick and Jason diving head first into the twin stick shooter. The game itself is pretty basic - drop in with you and some friends against a set number of mutant enemies. Clear the enemies, move on to the next stage. 

The latest title to use the Warhammer 40,000 license, Warhammer 40,000: Gladius - Relics of War, dropped onto the PC a couple weeks ago, and this past Monday, Nick and Jason teamed up to see what it has to offer within the 4x genre.

As if seeing a console release wasn't enough, THQ Nordic continues to amaze me with its ongoing support of Titan Quest, an action-RPG that is now over 12 years old! The developer/publisher dropped a new update a couple days ago that fixes a number of bugs and adds two play couch co-op to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. This update will be included in the Nintendo Switch version, too, when it arrives on July 31.

I'm sort of out of words for how stunned/impressed I am by THQ Nordic these days. After releasing new DLC for Titan Quest (an 11-year-old game) a few weeks ago, the developer/publisher told THEMSELVES "hold my beer" and announced yesterday that they'll be bringing the action-RPG to consoles in March 2018. Not only that, but they're releasing a Collector's Edition of it, too! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt??!
