Fable II Mysteriously Disappeared Off Xbox Live Marketplace For a Time

Lionhead’s fantasy role-playing game, Fable II, pulled a Houdini and completely vanished from the Xbox Live Marketplace earlier yesterday. For a short time, no one could view the title through either the “Games on Demand” tab or Fable II episodes on both Live and Xbox.com. Luckily, things are back to normal.

If you don't care about any of those awesome goodies picture above in the Fable 3 Collector's Edition, perhaps downloading the game in pieces is more up your alley.  We've already heard Fable 3 will be Episodic in nature, and now word comes straight from Lionhead that episodic digital distribution of the game will occur shortly after launch - no doubt fueled by the success of Fable 2's episodic release.

Fable 3 News is Going to Make you "Super Pissed," Says Molyneux

Did Fable 2's co-op mode piss you off?  Did you fling your controller while trying to adjust the camera?  Did you punch Grandma in the spleen because you couldn't bring your single player character into her game for co-op?  Would you say you were "super pissed?"  Hold onto that nerd rage because it's about to continue into the game's sequel.  According to Peter Molyneux there's going to be a big announcement for Fable 3 at Microsoft's X10 event in San Francisco this week, but he's a bit nervous about how it's going to go.

Three More Co-Op Titles Go Platinum

Three more co-op titles have landed on the XBox 360's Platinum Hits list: Fable 2, Gears of War, and Halo Wars.  While we weren't too keen about the way co-op was handled in Fable 2, it was still a fun game in its own right and there may be some potential for a "save file tie-in" between Fable 2 and Fable 3Halo Wars provides a very solid co-op RTS experience on the 360, with each player controlling their own troops but sharing the resources as they fight off the Covenant forces.  As for Gears of War, it offers the same co-op experience as its successor, with a few great moments of its own.  Each of these titles costs $29.99 so now may be a good time to use some of those lingering gift cards you got from Christmas.

B.Y.O.B. Co-op

While we at Co-Optimus do not generally condone the act of competitive gaming, which, by definition allows you to dominate another player; there is a kind of co-op that does include domination, one we would like to paste a label on. This type of co-op can, if used correctly, be used against that game-hog sibling, spouse or significant other. Co-optimus would like to proudly introduce: B.Y.O.B. (Bring Your Own Bitch) co-op gaming. We've looked at a few examples of games that created the B.Y.O.B. co-op genre, all the way back to the days of the Sega Genesis, and culminate the list with recent entries on systems like the Xbox 360 and Wii.
