The Xbox and PlayStation versions of Mojang's sandbox adventure game Minecraft will receive an array of new content as part of a free update deploying this week, including a new character skin that swaps in an alternate protagonist.
Just over a month ago, Microsoft teased a new skin pack for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions of Minecraft. We've seen plenty of Star Wars and holiday theme releases in recent months, so it was nice to see something a little less brown/tan and a little more... yellow.
The lovable scoundrels of Star Wars Rebels have been covertly sneaking into the hearts of embittered Star Wars fans since the show launched back in October. Here to celebrate the fairly well liked CGI program is a brand new skin pack for Minecraft featuring the colorful cast of the show. The skin pack is available for both Xbox One and 360 versions of Minecraft for $2.99.
In case Minecraft characters didn't have enough jaundice for your taste, guess who's coming to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One editions of the game in late February? You already knew the answer because you saw the title, but I just couldn't ruin my jaundice joke. Never underestimate the humor in high levels of vascular bilirubin.
A longtime request by fans of the console versions of Minecraft has now been granted by 4J Studios! The Xbox One and Xbox 360 Editions’ Update 7 (or 1.6.4 to be exact) was recently released, letting users finally have the opportunity to ride personal horses!
Got a fancy Xbox-type console in your house? You probably own Minecraft: Xbox One Edition or Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition. Since you do, and since it's Halloween, there's a nice treat waiting for you in the form of two new texture packs, one of which is actually related to the holiday!
It's skin time for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition once again! While we wait for Minecraft's next-gen console launch (which was delayed for PS4, bummer), a new skin pack will roll out to keep us all distracted. Adding to the array of Halo and Marvel skins this September will be the blocky debut of none other than the Doctor. Not Dr. House, the other one.
Summer blockbuster films still thrill us at Co-Optimus Towers, but the tie in games rarely do. Thankfully, Marvel have not gone down the Guardians of the Galaxy: The Video Game route, but are instead piggybacking on the successful Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition with a new Skin Pack.
Since the massive popularity of Minecraft is still there, Microsoft has kept up with rolling out the Skin Packs for Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition! Today, players can purchase the 6th Skin Pack DLC from the online storefront.
I wonder if anybody at Mojang was actually opposed to putting Minecraft out on consoles. After all, there is less customization, the patches are released at a much slower rate, and the worlds are slightly less infinite than their PC counterparts. Such concerns are probably soothed by the unbelievably large amount of cash Mojang has obtained since launching it on other platforms. Minecraft has officially sold more copies on consoles than PC.
Launching today for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, the Halo Edition mash-up pack includes tons of goodies from the Halo universe. Built by 4J Studios, the Halo theme pack includes textures, music, items, and skins. The official trailer launched this week and shows off some of the new content:
Details on the long teased Halo inspired Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition content have finally been revealed, and it's a pretty big bunch of stuff. The pack includes Halo style texture sets as well as a new look for certain items. 40 character skins are also included, and it comes with a world directly inspired by the Halo franchise, recreating familiar locations such as Blood Gulch, Valhalla, and Sandtrap.
