Fable 2 Co-Op Interview - Orbs and All

Fable 2 has been in the news a lot lately, specifically in regards to its co-op mode and where it would stand when the game launches on October 21st.  We had a chance to ask a few questions to the game's Lead Designer, Dean Carter, to get the skinny on just how the cooperative mode works.

Mercenaries 2 Update Coming

Mercenaries 2 has been covered many here at Co-Optimus. Having played a bit of the game, it seems like a decent mercenary simulator. Well, for those of you clamoring for an update for Mercs 2, your prayers are being answered. According to Shacknews, an update for the game will be coming out on October 13th for the 360 and PS3 versions of the game. The update will add cheat codes to the game (essential for a game like Mercenaries 2) and several new playable characters.

September Co-Op Monthly Round-Up

Duke Nuke 3D Unlocks Duke Nukem Forever Screens

If you are like us, then you've been re-living your earlier years replaying a great conversion of Duke Nukem 3D for the Xbox Live Arcade.  I've been playing co-op all the way through, and I believe we are just shy of the infamous Football Stadium level.  But if you go outside your cooperative comfort zone and play some Duke Match amassing 500 kills and finally earning all achievements in the game you'll be rewarded with something special.  There's a hidden gallery that is unlocked that reveals two hi resolution Duke Nukem Forever screenshots.  Yes...THAT Duke Nukem Forever.

The Bag-O-Swag Giveaway

They always say one person's loss is someone else's gain - and in this case that will be one lucky Co-Optimus member!  I can't even begin to describe everything in this bag of swag, but there's at least a half dozen t-shirts, a couple dozen stickers, hats, action figures, cases, notebooks, games, dvds and more.  A lot of this stuff is rare promo materials...other stuff is just plain cool.

Real Left 4 Dead Specs Revealed

Recently, we revealed what were rumored to the specs for Left 4 Dead. However, the real specs have been recently revealed. HalfLife2.net has posted the specs, taking them from the box itself. Unfortunately, the real specs require a better computer than the rumored ones. The game will require a more powerful CPU to fun it; either a "3.0 Ghz P4, Dual Core 2.0, or AMD64X2 (or higher)." Full specs after the jump.

Valhalla Knights 2 Co-Op Trailer

Valhalla Knights 2 hits the PlayStation Portable this week, and if you are in the mood for some co-op RPG goodness on Sony's portable, look no further than this game.  Now I'll admit, the "co-op trailer" isn't so much of a trailer as it is some actual gameplay footage.  And by gameplay we mean two people running around opening up treasure chests - but we'll take what we can get.

The Co-Op Games of Steam

We'll be honest, a lot of the co-op games we cover are on consoles.  The truth is that there's also plenty of really good co-op games out on the PC.  Some of the all time classics like Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, and Diablo are all PC franchises.  As digital distribution gets more and more popular, it's becomes easier to find, purchase and play these games.  One of the most popular and well received of these platforms is Valve's Steam.  Today, we bring you the list of some of the best co-op games available on the Steam.
