Blizzard has some new game modes for StarCraft 2 available for beta-testing over at Battle.net. These new modes draw inspiration from some unlikely sources. Names like "Auir Chef", "StarJeweled", and "Left 2 Die" hint at what gamers can expect. While none of these may be as noteworthy as the World of StarCraft Land of StarArt mod that appeared last week, two out of three support co-op play, and that ain't half bad. Actually, that's two-thirds good!
It's already a well established rumor that this year's Batman: Arkham City would feature cooperative gameplay, previously thought to be with Cat Woman. But the latest trailer for the game, leaked on a French video site, seems to indicate there will be more than one co-op partner for the caped crusader. The first batch of new screenshots for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception have made their way into our digital world after being featured in EDGE magazine and boy are they looking nice. We are even seeing a lot of cooperation between some main characters in these screens, but still no co-op in the story for us. That's okay, we'll take Drake any way we can get him - even if I really want to play as Sullivan.
Gamers should get a kick out of the post apocalyptic PC title APOX, if for not other reason than the seamless blending of two co-op favorite genres. APOX takes the real-time strategy elements we love like resources, base-building, and strategy (also fast paced battle, duh) and blends those elements with individual unit commands that you might see in a Shooter. Things like using cover, raiding bodies, or getting in and out of vehicles, all blended seamlessly.
