The studio behind Minecraft, Mojang, made a $10,000 donation in March to the Charity: Water, an organization that helps spread the ability to access clean water to people who have difficulty getting it. In April, Mojang promised to give more so long as “The Traveling Trader” map and skin pack was downloaded 10,000 times across the PC, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android communities. Unsurprisingly this goal was ripped to shreds, as the map was downloaded over 10,000 times in 24 hours and has since passed 100,000 downloads. Thanks to this success, Mojang has donated another $90,000 to Charity: Water.

New World Interactive's Day of Infamy received another free update today. This time two new maps, Dunkirk and Breville, have been added and can be enjoyed cooperatively.

Folks who tuned into Twitch this past weekend may have found Techland, the developer behind Dying Light and the original Dead Island, playing through some maps created by the Dying Light community using the tools the developer put out there. Aside from an excuse to play the game, the developer was taking a look through many of these maps as they plan to bring them over to the console version of the game.

It seems like you can't release a multiplayer shooter these days without the promise of additional maps coming post-release as well. In most instances, those maps will cost you a few bucks as well. Ubisoft recently announced that its forthcoming shooter, Rainbow 6 Siege, will ship with 11 maps initially, and ALL future maps will be free.

Good news for all you Heroes of the Storm fans out there. A new map and two new characters will be added to the game some time in the next few months. These are in addition to the new monk character, Kharazim, that was announced during E3 in June.

Evolve, one of our most anticipated co-op releases of 2015, just got a little bit sweeter for those who are gaming on a budget. We recently got wind of Turtle Rock Studios announcing that the many different maps to choose from, including the DLC ones, will all be available for free.

It has been a small wait for PlayStation 3 owners, but now they can finally grab the latest Resident Evil 6 DLC modes available on other platforms. Capcom will also be putting Mercenaries maps onto online stores next month for all consoles.

Now’s the time to take another crack at ToyLogic’s Happy Wars on XBLA, as the game recently received a hefty and much needed update. It’s free after all, so why the heck not?

Three Resident Evil 6 maps for the “Mercenaries” game mode have now hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace for purchase. Originally, these maps were only included along with those who pre-ordered the game through exclusive retailers. Now, we can all enjoy these maps with everyone else and get the full experience of this game mode with our co-op partners.

Sniping has always been a staple in shooter titles, but it takes a truly special game, such as Sniper Elite V2, to take it to a whole new level, specifically for co-op gamers. After listening to their fans frequent requests for more co-op related content in the game, developer Rebellion is giving them exactly what they want with a specifically designed update solely for co-op gaming!
