Me oh my, it's a good season for beat 'em ups. Arc System Works' Double Dragon: Revive is just around the corner, and Dotemu's Absolum recently landed on all platforms but the beleaguered Xbox. Not only is Absolum garnering piles of critical praise, it has also sold over 200,000 copies in its first week of release. That's an impressive debut for Dotemu's first game that isn't a remake or a sequel to an existing franchise. It certainly helps that the game is a gorgeous 2D beat 'em up with 2-player local and online co-op.

Flying Wild Hog's Shadow Warrior 2 has been out for a couple weeks now on PC. In that span of time, sales for the title are nearly quadruple that of the original that was released in 2013. We chalk it up to the inclusion of co-op this time around.

We've been enjoying taking on the Rikers, Rioters, Cleaners, and other threats to the city of New York since Tom Clancy's The Division launched a week ago. Us and many, many others. So many others, in fact, that it appears the title has broken some sales records for Ubisoft.

Activision likes to throw big numbers around when its franchises do well, see Call of Duty for reference. One day after their 10 year investment launched, we've found out some preliminary sales numbers. According to Activision, Destiny has sold over $500 million dollars worth of "Destiny" on launch day, "making the game the biggest new video game franchise launch in history. "

Call of Duty: Ghosts owners on the PlayStation 3, 4 and PC can now purchase and download the Onslaught DLC. This pack contains four new multiplayer maps, a new weapon called the Maverick, and Episode 1 of the new co-op extinction campaign called Nightfall. The pack will set you back $14.99 individually or is included in the $49.99 season pass.

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One has sold 2 million units in its 18 days since launch. If you are wondering how the PlayStation 4 is doing? They've sold 2.1 million units in their 3 weeks since launch. Honestly it's neck and neck and both manufacturers are selling everything they can at this point. There's still a lot of demand.

In the left corner in the very black trunks is Disney Infinity with almost 300000 units sold in two weeks.  Laying the smackdown from the right is Skylanders Giants with 500000 units.  Things just got tasty in the plastic tat based game wars.

Congratulations, Starbreeze Studios! PAYDAY 2’s sales have been going strong since its August release. Just hitting the 1.6 million mark across all platforms a few days ago, this comes at no big surprise to us; it’s a fantastic co-op game.

The hardships of XBLA development continue, as the developers of Monaco, Pocketwatch Games, recently described their overall disappointment with the game’s low XBLA sales. Due to its complications during launch, Andy Schatz of Pocketwatch expressed his thoughts on the results of the Xbox 360 version.

What do you get if you sell 2 million copies on the Wii U?  Co-Op!  Nintendo have released sales figures for their new console and it makes good reading for fans of co-op titles New Super Mario Bros. Wii U and NintendoLand.  Both have managed to sell over 2 million copies.  Elsewhere, sales of the console are not looking quite as rosy.

Runic Games sent out a tweet last night letting the world know that Torchlight 2 has done quite well since it launched in September on the PC.  The 6 player co-op, action/RPG has sold over 1 million copies to date.  Not bad for a game our community chose as their Indie Co-Op GOTY.  

Hmmm, this seems familiar.  Oh right, I just wrote about Halo 4 in terms of sales dollars.  Now it's the other big juggernaut's turn.  Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has sold over 500 Million dollars worth of product in the first 24 hours since launch across all three platforms: Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
