Better than a prize in a Cracker Jack box

New Skylanders Giants Figurines Available through Frito-Lay

Who said you couldn't get great video game freebies with your snacks? You may have recalled how Activision made a special set of Skylander figurines available through a promotion with Frito-Lay products. In much the same way, Activision has once again paired with Frito-Lay in order to offer a few limited edition sidekicks for Skylanders Giants.

If you still want a Wii, there's some local co-op friendly Wii packs coming soon

Skylanders Giants and Just Dance 4 Wii Packs Out November

The Wii U is right on the horizon, which for some probably means finally turning in their old Wiis. For others, though, it might mean trying to score some good deals on the old console before it disappears forever. At least, that's Nintendo's thought, because there's two Wii packs due out early November. Happily, they're both local co-op friendly due to the new releases they come bundled with. The two bunddles are the Just Dance 4 bundle (4-player local co-op) for $130 and the Skylanders Giants bundle (2-player local co-op) for $150. These bundles are due to hit the shelves November 4th.

The new trailer for Skylanders Giants shows off all 4 types of collectible

Fe-Fi-Fo-Fum, I Smell a New Skylanders Giants Trailer (man)

In the list of bestselling games of 2011 you would find near the top the family friendly Skylanders.  Activision not only made money from the game itself, but the countless character models they sold to use with the game.  This is one developer that knows a good thing and the latest trailer for Skylanders Giants shows that the sequel will be more of the same, but bigger and brasher.

Skylanders Giants Coming This October, New Video Reveals Air Giant

Skylanders Giants will be invading our homes on October 21st. The insanely popular franchise is back with a vengeance this year, and it has been super-sized for our buying pleasure. The action figure-based video game will feature eight new Giant Skylanders, eight new regular sized Skylanders, eight Light Core figures, and an assortment of reposed favorites from the original Skylanders. I've heard (or read) anywhere between eight and all 32 original characters will be getting the "reposed" Series 2 treatment. All that adds up to a lot of broke parents this holiday season.

Skylanders Giants Coming Fall of 2012

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.  Surprise, surprise, Activision has just announced Skylanders Giants, the follow-up to the incredibly successful Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.  This new game is offering bigger and better toys, as well as a whole new digital quest.  Before you freak out:  yes, all of your original Skylanders figures will work with the new game, along with all of their upgrades and XP.  No, you don't need a new Portal of Power.  Got it?  Good.
