Co-Opticast Episode 95: The Colonel Fundip Episode

Oh XCOM, how we wish you had co-op play. Perhaps it's for the better, as we already spend way too much time battling the alien menace turn by turn. We've got a short and sweet episode for you this week where we talk about what we've been playing including impressions of Miner Wars, Painkiller Hell and Damnation, Borderlands 2, and many other quality titles.

You helped Co-Optimus save lives

Extra Life - Thank You!

Last weekend, our Extra Life team endured a 24 hour gaming marathon, and raised $2,188.75 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. Those donations are going straight to the Children's Hospitals we each chose, to help kids in need. This was our first year organizing a team, and we blew away our goal of $1,000. As someone who has personally spent months visiting my child in the hospital, that makes me very proud. On behalf of the Co-Optimus staff, our Co-Optimus Extra Life team, and parents everywhere, I'd like to thank each of you who donated, participated, or helped spread the word. It means alot to me, and it literally means the world to kids fighting diseases, disabilities, and prematurity.

Worms Revolution Funfair DLC Adds Much-Needed Sweets

Worms Revolution may not be much of a co-op game (see our review), but it's still the best game in the Worms series. Packed with tons of weapons, all-new physics, and a wry sense of humor, it's a great way to blow up a few of your friends without having to clean up the mess afterward. Team17 always releases DLC for their Worms games, and now Revolution has its first release: The 'Funfair Pack.' How do a new background, puzzles, and dress up accessories sound to you?

If you still want a Wii, there's some local co-op friendly Wii packs coming soon

Skylanders Giants and Just Dance 4 Wii Packs Out November

The Wii U is right on the horizon, which for some probably means finally turning in their old Wiis. For others, though, it might mean trying to score some good deals on the old console before it disappears forever. At least, that's Nintendo's thought, because there's two Wii packs due out early November. Happily, they're both local co-op friendly due to the new releases they come bundled with. The two bunddles are the Just Dance 4 bundle (4-player local co-op) for $130 and the Skylanders Giants bundle (2-player local co-op) for $150. These bundles are due to hit the shelves November 4th.

Team Fortress 2 Gets Zombies in Time for Halloween

Scream Fortress is an anual "event" set in Valve's free to play first person shooter, Team Fortress 2.  This year though, things are a little different, thanks in part to an additional co-op mode that was added over the summer.   The free update includes a haunted map where random spells are cast on players, for both good and evil purposes. The two-week-long event, which starts now and ends on November 8th,  will also let players cast their own spells to buff their equipment like "shifting paint colors, ghost summoning, flaming footsteps and more."

Formula One 2012 coming to Mac soon

Mac Users Race Towards F1 2012 Release

In the real world the F1 season is coming nicely to the boil, but in the F1 2012 race between platforms, Mac has come last.  The game is already out on PC, 360 and PS3, but struggling along at the rear is the poor old Macintosh.  Thankfully, they now have the competitive edge as Codemasters have revealed that the Apple powerhouse is going to have its first F1 game in over 10 years.

The charity is no trick and the skins are quite the treat.

Grab Rare Halloween Minecraft Skins By Donating to Charity

This past weekend, Co-Optimus and hundreds of other organizations teamed together to generate roughly 2 million dollars to the Children’s Miracle Network through the 2012 Extra Life fundraiser. Though slightly different in the fundraising approach than us, the developers of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will join in this charity season through the new "Halloween Skin Pack" DLC, where all its proceeds will go directly to charity.

Three Videos To Get You PUMPED for Farming Simulator 2013!

Are you ready for this? Hell no, you're not! No one is. Today I have three, count'em, three videos showboating the agricultural extravaganza that is Farming Simulator 2013. I know what you're thinking: "But I didn't play Farming Simulator 2012!" Shut your face! It's not that kind of game. The plots of preceding titles are irrelevant to the current game, just like Tetris, Pac-Man, Call of Duty, and the Mass Effect series.
