Elevator Action Deluxe Landing on PSN This Month

Most of the time, we know about co-op game releases quite a bit ahead of time.  In this case, a new release almost snuck right past us, which is appropriate since the protagonist is a sneaky spy type.  Elevator Action Deluxe is coming to PSN on August 30.  It looks to be a fairly faithful remake of the classic Elevator Action from early 80s arcades.  Players must move between doors and floors while dodging enemies and scoring points.

Sanctum Gets Price Drop, Soundtrack Released

Tower Defense/Shooter hybrid Sanctum is one of my favorite games of the year so far.  It earned solid marks in our review, blending of two unique genres into something very enjoyable indeed.  If you were thinking about checking it out, but undecided, now might be a good time: Sanctum is now priced at $9.99, which truly is a lot of bang for your bucks(s).

Dark Souls' Punishing New Bartholomew Trailer

Wal-Mart just ordered a million shirts with this image emblazoned upon them.  The latest trailer for Dark Souls is the most bad-ass thing I've seen all day.  And my life screams "bad-ass."  Apparently someone brought a giant wolf to a giant knife fight, and then blasted some Silent Comedy to set the mood.  "Bartholomew" is a lovely song for a good old fashioned mauling.  A crap-ton of other bosses are on display as well.  Bask in the awesomeness that is this trailer, and prepare to die.

New Trailer for The Baconing is as Ridiculous as You'd Expect

The story of Deathspank comes to and end(?) with The Baconing.  If you've been following this series at all, you know just how silly these games can get.  Silly enough to title the third installment "The Baconing?"  Yes, sir.  The plot is inconsequential.  All you need to know is that a group of goofy characters will come together for some light dungeon crawling and groan inducing, hit or miss humor. This trailer showcases some of these new characters.  In true Deathspank fashion, they're worth a chuckle or an eye roll.

Catherine seems to be getting a bit of play from the staff.

Our Weekend in Gaming - A Busy Weekend with Catherine

While some of the staff hope to start their fall gaming season, others are busy with work work work.  Others seem strangely fascinated with someone or something named Catherine, I bet we'll know more this coming week.  It's hard to believe August is almost over and the gaming season is going to start kicking up bigtime.  Get ready folks, it's going to be a great one.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Screenshots from Gamescom 2011

Ghost Recon is back next year in a big way after a long hiatus.  Some sexy looking new screenshots have found their way out of Germany at Gamescom and onto the Co-Optimus gallery for the next game, titled Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.  Without a doubt the most stand out thing is the way the game integrates tactical information directly into the game world.  It's slick looking and makes me wish I had some sort of kick ass retinal implant to do the same.   Just think, shopping for fresh vegtables would be so much more fun.
