XBLA games don't always receive simultaneous worldwide releases. Case in point, Trenched was released in North America on June 22, but still hasn't hit European shores. Thankfully that will soon be rectified as Trenched will come to Europe in September under the name Iron Brigade.
Ubisoft is rumored to be working on a new squad-based shooter, tentatively titled Project Osborn. Little is known about the game other than its unique premise. Basically, a descendant of George Washington has decided to take down the American government due to its rampant corruption. I almost wish somebody would do that in real life. Shh!
Here's a nice and cheery Resistance 3 video to brighten up your day. Especially if you're into the whole "young woman ruminating upon her own death" thing. If not, it's pretty damn bleak. There's a nice flavor of wasted helplessness mixed in with a minimalist black, red, and white color scheme. You get the idea. Almost any still from this video would be right at home on the cover of an old 60's sci-fi book.
The latest Dead Rising 2: Off the Record video feature everyone's favorite photojournalist, Frank West. He's pitching a new disposable camera and he's got some tips for aspiring photographers. Dead Rising 2 had plenty of humorous moments, but Off the Record is looking like an all out comedy. Those wacky zombie pictures! What will they think of next? I'm serious. What the hell will they come up with? Oooh! Sweet alien mask at :52!
We just got a fresh batch of screenshots from Gamescom 2011 for Epic's upcoming four player co-op shooter, Gears of War 3. The shots show off the game's campaign and Horde Mode 2.0, so there might be some minor spoilers on display. We do get glimpses of some of the new characters we'll be taking control of as well.
During the EA press conference at Gamescom 2011 the company showed off Battlefield 3's cooperative gameplay mode in a short realtime demo running on the PlayStation 3. There was one short mission on display in which the two characters needed to rescue a hostage and get him to safety. The co-op mode will support two players online and each mission is its own story with full dialogue as part of a larger co-op campaign.
We go hands on with a preview build of Serious Sam 3: BFE for the PC. It's a return to the classic Sam goodness with some hands on time with the two player local split screen play. Are you ready?

This might be the last "normal" Co-Opticast for quite some time thanks to some life changes going on, so get in while the getting is still..."normal."
Is anyone else sick of the Borderlands 2 hype, yet? I was, until I saw this teaser trailer. I'm amazed that I can fall in, and out, and then back in love again with a franchise so easily. All I required was to see it in motion. A jacked-up dwarf dual wielding machine guns helps, too. Oh Borderlands 2, I was wrong to ever doubt you. I'll never stray again. Unless... Well, don't mind my ramblings. Check out this new trailer. I'm going to go log another 8 hours into the first Borderlands.
