Co-Op Now Enabled in the Trial

Scourge: Outbreak Receiving Updates Based on Community Feedback

When we reviewed Scourge: Outbreak, we felt it was missing something. As a game from a small studio with big ambitions, gameplay just felt flat and disconnected. We weren't alone in our concerns for the game and thankfully developer Tragnarion Studios is listening to feedback. A patch is scheduled soon with numerous updates, including some pretty major ones for co-op gamers.

A little taste of the plague

Scourge: Outbreak Co-Op Review

It has been over three years since indie developer Tragnarion released The Scourge Project. Fast forward to present day and we have Scourge: Outbreak, and it isn’t going to cure those summer doldrums. Stay outside kids because this is one of the most generic third person shooters to grace a television. Plagued by technical issues and shoddy AI, Sco...

Scourge: Outbreak Trailer Offers Co-Op Details

Scourge: Outbreak is available from the Xbox Live Marketplace today. The third-person sci-fi shooter focuses on squad-based co-op and the entire campaign is playable cooperatively. Gamers will take on the rolls of Echo Squad, yet another group of powered-up super soldiers who look like they popped right out the Unreal Engine 3. Amp, Mass, Shade, and Stonewall are vying to save the world from an evil terrorist organization, or mafia kingpin, or global corporation, or whatever. Does it really matter? Shoot stuff and have fun.

Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 7.1.2013

It's a good week to go outside, unless you live west of the Rockies. If it's in triple digits on your porch you may want to sit inside and wonder about the life choices you've made and how the consequences have resulted in your home being surrounded by a hell-ravaged nightmare (check out the RealFeel). If you live in a place where the air hasn't caught fire, congratulations. Enjoy the 4th.

A new project

Scourge: Outbreak Coming to XBLA in July

This summer the Xbox LIVE Arcade will be getting another four player third-person shooter called Scourge: Outbreak. Stop me if you've heard this one before: Set in the near future, and small team of specialized mercenaries must take on a secret organization whose mysterious fuel source, "Ambrosia," is threatening the safety of the world. Players will be able to level up their characters and use special perks and abilities. Really? I know several titles have similar story lines, but I finished another upcoming squad-based third-person shooter less than 24 hours ago and this premise seems very familiar.

The all round biotech character Stonewall in detail

A Stonewall Character Bio for Scourge: Outbreak

Another day, another character bio trailer for Scourge: Outbreak.  This time it is the very Olde English sounding character called Stonewall.  You may think that his power is a detailed knowledge of Hadrian's Wall, but you would be wrong.  He is in fact a rounded Biotech character that you can use in this 4 player co-op shooter coming soon to PC, PSN and XBLA.

A glimpse at some character abilities in the squad-based shooter

Scourge: Outbreak Introduces us to a Shady Character

The console development of Tragnarion Studios' The Scourge Project, dubbed Scourge: Outbreak, has been underway for a little over the past year. This is more than just a straight port of the PC version, though. As we previously covered, Tragnarion is taking the time to make a game that is designed for the consoles, including new gameplay mechanics, a new enemy A.I., improved graphics, and more. The members of Echo Squad from the PC version are still around and the developers are taking the time to introduce us to them. First up is Shade, an Argentinian assassin with a personal vendetta against the Nogari Corporation (aka "Evil Corp 3000").

Developer Tragnarion breaks out the details no this co-op shooter.

Scourge: Outbreak Completely Rebuilds The Scourge Project for Consoles

While we may have found quite a few faults in The Scourge Project, it appears developer Tragnarion didn't sit idely by while develping the console version.  In fact, the console version isn't even the same game as the 2010 PC 3rd person shooter, instead Scourge: Outbreak is a brand new game built from the ground up for console gamers.

Scourge: Outbreak Erupting onto XBLA, PSN, and Mac this Year

The word scourge is not used frequently enough in common vernacular, losing most of its kudos after American Prohibition and the Scourge of Alcohol.  Well pour yourselves a pint, because not only is booze legal, but a new game is coming called Scourge: Outbreak.  This 4 player online co-op game is coming to Mac, XBLA and PSN later in the year and confronts the player with stumbling enemies.  These enemies are not drunk, but a bit dead.  Find out more and check out some screens after the jump.
