Rebellion and 505 Games recently released Sniper Elite V2’s “Game of the Year” Edition in Europe, including every piece of bonus content ever released in one, complete package. For US residents, however, we’ll be given our version of this bundle later this month.

Expect some more mature titles to arrive for the Nintendo Wii U’s every growing game lineup. Recently, one of the many exciting games to come, Sniper Elite V2, has officially cemented itself as an upcoming Wii U title.

Sniping has always been a staple in shooter titles, but it takes a truly special game, such as Sniper Elite V2, to take it to a whole new level, specifically for co-op gamers. After listening to their fans frequent requests for more co-op related content in the game, developer Rebellion is giving them exactly what they want with a specifically designed update solely for co-op gaming!

Jason     On the heels of his return from E3, I asked Andrew what game he wanted to play for our This Week in Co-Op piece. “I’m feeling something shooty,” he said. “Have you tried that Sniper Elite V2 game yet?” I had not. It was a game that had flown under my radar, but I was willing to give it a shot. The backup plan was Outland, a game that is decidedly not “shooty,” but still fun. So after I got home from work, I downloaded the demo and started playing. Within the first minute of play, I watched my slow motion bullet tear through a guy’s skull and explode out the other side...

Sniper Elite V2 boasted one of the most interesting and fun preorder DLC bonuses in recent memory - the 'Assassinate the Fuhrer' mission. The game takes place during the closing days of World War II, a time when der Führer's number was just about up. As such, the mission provides the ultimate WWII sniping fantasy. Gamers who waited for our co-op review before buying and missed out on the bonus can fret no longer, as it goes on sale to all next week.

Do you fancy yourself a digital version of Simo Häyhä? Do you spend most of your FPS time behind a scope, obliterating any enemy soldiers foolish enough to come under your crosshairs? Then Sniper Elite V2 may be the game for you. The WWII title is a hybrid of third-person shooting and first-person sniping. Its big selling point (other than the online co-op modes) are the gory X-ray kills, because sometimes a fine red mist just isn't good enough. Check out the launch trailer to see what I mean.

Rebellion's Sniper Elite V2 is set to release on consoles and PC on Tuesday, May 1 - less than two weeks from now. If you've been wanting a realistic sniping game and are eager to try it out, the freshly-released PC demo should cure what ails ya. Sniper Elite V2 is right around the corner, coming to the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in May.  That means the hype train is kicking up no this one, with a handful of new videos being released.   Sniper Elite V2 is a game set during World War 2 where you play an elite sniper.  The gameplay is a mix of stealth and 3rd person shooting combined with first person sniping.  Sniper Elite V2's hook is the kill cam, which follows your bullets as they brutally hit their targets - sometimes with included x-ray visions - ala Mortal Kombat.
