While the first bit of co-op news out of this year's BlizzCon was on the cheerier side, the second bit is definitely not. Diablo IV is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and... I'd say Blizzard got the "feedback" about Diablo III's art direction/style.
Blizzard held its annual convention, aka BlizzCon, this past weekend and had a couple big co-op announcements. The first of these is Overwatch 2, which will be heading to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch sometime in the future. While there are some visual and gameplay tweaks, the part we're most interested in are the new PvE Story and Hero missions.
All you fans of Heroes of the Storm have further cause to celebrate the game's (albeit limited) co-op mode. A new hero - the ogre mage Cho-Gall - has been added to the roster from the depths of the Warcraft franchise and he offers a unique twist; two players must control him and work together to utilize all of his abilities.
Full disclosure: I am not a Blizzard fanboy. There, I said it. Wait, don't freak out! I'm not a Blizzard hater, either. I've played through Diablo and some of the sequel. I dabbled in WarCraft before there was a "World of." I Zerg rushed with the worst of them in StarCraft. I did all of that and more - a decade ago. I have never owned a gaming PC, ever. I mooched accessed Blizzard titles through a steady stream of college friends and roommates back in the late 90's and early 00's. Once I moved on I never looked back. Somehow, I found myself at Blizzcon 2011 last Friday. There were sights, there were sounds, there were many announcements, and not so much as a whisper of StarCraft: Ghost.
Hey there! Blizzcon 2011 is in full swing, and Co-Optimus was awesome enough to let me cover it. Now, I'm not what you would call a "Blizzard Expert," or even a "PC gamer," but I can take a damn fine grainy photo or two! Feast your eyes on some of the sights of Blizzcon 2011! Blizzard out did themselves this year, with several gigantic bad-ass character statues. I also took a trip through their art gallery, as well as captured some of the tournaments, panels, and presentations in action. We'll have more news from Blizzcon for you soon!
Straight out of Blizzcon comes word that Blizzard will be releasing official mods for StarCraft 2 for all owners of the game to enjoy. The mods range from a quirky puzzle game, to a Defense of the Ancients mod, to a cooking ingredient hunting game, to a co-op Left 4 Dead style romp.
Blizzard have just taken the wraps off Diablo 3's fifth and final class at Blizzcon 2010. The class is called the Demon Hunter, and she appears to be a ranger like support character who specializes in bow and knife attacks. Five videos have been released of her special attacks - molten shot, boa, entangle, grenade, and fan of knives are all on display and impressive looking.
When a developer has their own conference, you know they are doing alright. Blizzard has been having their own Con for quite a few years now, and the next one is right around the corner coming this August 21st and 22nd. These events are usually pretty exciting, with the last few especially up there for World of Warcraft players. This year though, we'll be seeing some fresh faces in the form of Diablo III (YESSSSSS!) and StarCraft.

In case you hadn't heard, Blizzcon is going on right now. That's right, Blizzard is so big and so awesome in their infinite gaming goodness that they have an entire conference in Anaheim California promoting their software.
The news just keeps on rolling in today. Between the Tokyo Game Show and this weekend's BlizzCon, it's a busy time for those craving gaming information! According to the BlizzCon program guide, some new Diablo III information will be revealed today. The biggest news is the hint of a "new champion" who will join the Witch Doctor and the Barbarian, previously announced. As soon as the news hits, we'll let you know. Personally, I am pulling for the Rainbrow Brite class, though I'm not sure that would translate well into a male version. (Gotta love that mount, though!)
