A new trailer has surfaced for the upcoming third-person shooter, Starhawk. The game's space western vibe is in full effect as we're introduced to "blue gold," the rift energy that drives the fortunes of men like our protagonist, Emmett Graves. This game is really tickling my fun zone. The beta was a blast and the gameplay footage from this trailer looks amazing.
Did everyone get to play the Diablo 3 public beta last weekend? Good times, if you could get into a game. Those servers were packed! Oh well, that's the nature of a stress test. I only had time to play with one class, so I suited up a Barbarian. After seeing these two guys in action, I feel like I missed out. The Monk and the Witch Doctor both have some very cool skill sets.
We have a fresh new trailer for the latest Fable game. Fable Heroes is an offshoot of the series, allowing four players to team up for some good old-fashioned co-op action. The new title looks to be a hybrid of Gauntlet-style hack and slash mixed with a collection of mini-games. Check out the video to see the gameplay in action.
A tweet made earlier this week from Stargate Atlantis star Joe Flanigan has turned the crank on the Army of Four rumor mill once again. His tweet said the following:
It's a little slow this week. The only truly new co-op release is a third person shooter. I'll give you a couple hints, and you see if you can tell me where the game takes place. Hint #1: It's set in the future. Hint #2: Robots. Hint #3: Said future robots, or "frobots," as I like to call them, are becoming too human. Hint #4: It's not a Blade Runner game (you wish!).
Awww, isn't that nice? Those robots are trying to murder-hug a gaggle of P. Walter Tugnuts. I had a joke about four Tugnut's walking into a bath house, but I appear to have misplaced it. Oh well. Please assume it was high-brow and the epitome of taste. The robots must have huge heart-ons because the Shoot Many Robots release date has been announced. Grab three friends and shoot all the damn robots on March 13th.
We have three new videos for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, courtesy of GameTrailers- which presents us with a little conundrum. One of the many hardships that comes with covering video games is the amount of spoilers one can be exposed to if they're not careful. I'm really looking forward to this game, so I'm trying to present these co-op gameplay videos to you without having actually watched them.
Today we bring you a new commercial touting the capabilities of the Xbox 360's Kinect motion control peripheral in Mass Effect 3. The Kinect has been a whipping boy for many gamers since it's announcement, and this video is probably not going to change that. At all. As a semi-proud owner of the device, I can definitively say, "It's okay, I guess."
Crap. This is very disappointing. The new Dead Island DLC, "Ryder White's Campaign," will be a single-player-only affair. The new add-on will allow you to experience the zombie disaster of Banoi as, you guessed it, Ryder White. If you haven't finished the game, you may not know too much about Colonel White. Let's just say he's another survivor of the undead outbreak and he's trying to help the four survivors from the game's main story line.
Double Fine's excellent Iron Brigade is getting some stellar DLC. "Rise of the Martian Bear" will take the fight to the Red Planet, where players will be challenged with new enemy designs and levels. The video also gives us a quick glimpse of some new stylish paint jobs for your mobile Trench, as well as fresh outfits for your soldier.
Are you sick of killing Orcs? Ready to turn the tables on those weak, pathetic humans? Developer Casual Brothers feels your pain. Their new game, Orc Attack, lets you play as one of four gastrointestinally-challenged monsters as you seek revenge against the humans who poisoned your food and water supplies. Your corrupted, noxious bodily functions will become tools of mankind's destruction.
Today I decided to check out the new Iron Brigade update. You know, the one that changes the game's name from Trenched to Iron Brigade. After re-downloading the title I was greeted with an error - one of those nice semi-paradoxical errors that technology loves to whip out on us simple folk:
About that public beta? Nevermind. That's what I get for following a lead from a site that can't mind their k's and q's. It seems that I got caught up in a game of telephone, and there will NOT be a public beta for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. I am truly sorry.
Space Marine's free co-op mode, Exterminatus, has been live for all of one week (one day, for 360 owners), and THQ has just announced plans for additional co-op content. The new DLC will include an Exterminatus campaign titled "Chaos Unleashed." It will put players in the mighty boots of the Chaos Marines. You'll face Orks and the Imperial Guard as the Space Marines' evil, and therefore cooler, counterparts. You just know that all of the Chaos Marines are wearing goatees under their helmets and calling each other "Bro."
We've been anticipating Payday: The Heist ever since we got our greedy little hands on it at E3. Does it take the bank or wind up leaving it's wallet at the scene of the crime? Find out in our Co-Op Review.
