Looking to new frontiers.

Interstellar Marines Seeks Publisher At Least Seven Years Into Development

It seems like we covered Interstellar Marines seven full years ago when the game was first publicly announced. Maybe that's because we actually did cover Interstellar Marines seven years ago, but who's keeping track, 'eh?  What's important is the team at developer Zero Point Software is ready to finally push their pride and joy out of Steam's Early Access program (which it entered back in July of 2013). But, in order to do that, they need a little help.

Interstellar Marines Gets Stealthy With New Co-op Update

Alright, folks.  It's time to pack your space-bags and hop back into Interstellar Marines, The tactical co-op FPS just dropped it's newest patch, and it's added a whole slew of ways for you and three buddies to bring the pain to your galactic foes.  Of course, the game is inspired by Rainbow Six, so I'm assuming the pain in question can only be brought after hours of planning, meticulous loadout management, and staring at your computer screen as you try to figure out who exactly shot you.

For an hour. And it was awesome.

We Played Interstellar Marines with Creative Director Kim Jørgensen

Interstellar Marines has been in development for quite a while, and definitely hit some rocky patches along the way. Luckily, this Early Access title is shaping up to be a fine experience. With single player, multiplayer, and co-op on the table for this sci-fi shooter, it's been an optimistic project from the beginning. I got to interview the game's Creative Director, Kim Jørgensen, while playing the title last week, and damn it was fun. We streamed the session on Twitch (if you don't follow us you should probably do that right now), but here's the footage for those who missed out:

Interstellar Marines Hits us With a Co-Op Prequel on XBLA + PSN + Steam

We've waited and waited for the release date of sci-fi FPS Interstellar Marines to be officially announced, in spite of quite a bit of turbulence surrounding its development. To tide us over until the full games releases, it looks like Zero Point Software is giving us a prequel story to the full game. This story will be released on Xbox LIVE Arcade, Steam, and Playstation Network long before the full title is released.

Catching up with Interstellar Marines

While the focus of Co-Optimus has always been on cooperative gaming, we also like to look at cooperative efforts surrounding gaming as well.  One of these unique stories is the independent and slightly community developed Interstellar Marines by Zero Point Software.  What makes Interstellar Marines so unique is that not it's four player co-op first person shooter, but one that is being almost completely community funded and driven.  Also it has space sharks.

Next Slice of Interstellar Marines Now Available

It's been some time since we saw anything from Interstellar Marines, a unique tactical co-op game from developer Zeropoint Software.  When we last looked at the game we talked about their investment like business model, where dividends were paid out to shareholders in the form of mini-slices of the full product.  All this was being done to tide you over till the final release of the game.  The latest slice is now available and it's called Running Man.

You Can Help Produce Interstellar Marines

It's not often we as players get the opportunity to directly participate in the development process of a game, be it indie developed or not. Furthermore: how often do we see decent studios have to shut their doors and throw out perfectly good game concepts and engines?
