Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 Announced for PlayStation and Switch

Back in 2021, D3 Publisher and Yuke's unleashed a family-friendly spin-off of the EDF series called Earth Defense Force: World Brothers. We quite liked that game's colorful, voxel art style and humor. Fast-forwarding to 2024, it looks like we're in for another good time because Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 has been officially announced for a September release on PlayStation and Switch!

Disney Illusion Island, a Colorful, Co-op Metroidvania, Arrives on Nintendo Switch

Mickey Mouse knows a thing or two about platforming. He once braved the Castle of Illusion, and would go on to have 8-bit and 16-bit platforming adventures in the World, Land, and Legend of Illusion. Now Mickey is returning to his roots and bringing his friends along in Disney Illusion Island from Disney and Dlala Studios, which launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch today. This one features gorgeous cartoon-style artwork and 4-player local co-op.

The dogs will soon be let out on another family-friendly co-op adventure.

PAW Patrol World Is Coming to Consoles and PC This September

PAW Patrol is a super successful CG animated series that has been running for ten seasons now. The story follows a young boy and his team of heroic dogs as they get in little adventures. The premise naturally lends itself to video games, the latest of which will be titled PAW Patrol World. This one will allow two local players to team up and save the PAW Patrol Day festivities from the nefarious Kitten Catastrophe Crew.

Spinner and trackball support to iiRcade coming in the near future.

iiRcade Announces Accessory Support for All Cabinets

iiRcade is a home arcade platform for which users can buy individual games. One thing it has not been until now, though, is an arcade platform with support for trackballs and other devices. That will soon change, though, because iiRcade has just announce that accessory support will be coming to both existing iiRcade cabinets and the upcoming iiRcade Gold Edition cabinets. This should allow for a greater variety of classic arcade games to be offered on the platform.

'Nobody Saves the World' Now on PlayStation and Switch, Adds Local Co-op

Drinkbox Studios, the developers of the Guacamelee series, released Nobody Saves the World as a timed Xbox and PC exclusive earlier this year. A lighthearted fantasy-RPG, Nobody Saves the World stars a character named Nobody who can shapeshift into various forms. Now that time has passed, the game has finally arrived on PlayStation and Switch. As if that wasn't cool enough, all versions of Nobody Saves the World now have local co-op in addition to the 2-player online co-op that the Xbox and PC games started with.

Steam Version of 'Earth Defense Force: World Brothers' Ditches Region-Locking

When we reviewed Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, the recent EDF spin-off from Yuke's and D3 Publisher, we mostly had a great online co-op experience. The Steam version of the game, however, inexplicably suffered from region-locked lobbies. (The PlayStation and Switch versions weren't affected.) Workarounds will no longer be necessary when playing with folks from other places, thankfully, because the region locking has now been fixed!
