Minecraft has managed to give players limitless potential since its release back in 2009, but some how the game continues to add the content the game always needs, even now, eleven years later. In the most recent update, the game has decided to dive into the depths of the hellish Nether to introduce new biomes, blocks, mobs, and resources.It even introduces a new upgrade to diamond resources, meaning even the most achieved players will need to dive back into the game to upgrade their gear. The update is accompanied with the adorable trailer below, which accurately shows about how many times I’ve personally died in the Nether since the content went live.  The changes are available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

Few games have captured the creative and adventurous hearts of gamers like the crafting and combat heavy Terraria. The title has managed to keep its longevity over the years with a steady stream of updates ever since its initial PC release back in 2011. However, it appears the newest update, “Journey’s End,” will possibly be one of the final (development) chapters in the long running saga that is Terraria.

In these unprecedented times during the Corona virus outbreak that is plaguing the world, many of us are stuck in doors due to government mandated "stay at home" orders. While many schools are attempting to offer remote learning possibilities for children, not all have the access or attention the fully get engaged. Microsoft's Minecraft game is hoping to help a little bit by offering free educational content through the Minecraft marketplace.

Earlier this week, the PlayStation 4 version of the popular building-sim, Minecraft, finally got the Bedrock Update. That update made its way around all other versions of the game so that all of them could play together; the PS4 version of the game was the one notable exception. With that update, everybody can play Minecraft on all platforms where it's available and have their progress carry over.

Minecraft may be experiencing a resurgence of sorts in pop culture, but that doesn't mean the developers ever stopped plugging along on updates for the game.  All sorts of new features, items, and biomes have been added over the years, and now, at long last, a character creator is on the way.

No Microsoft E3 conference would be complete without mention of the world-building juggernaut that is Minecraft. Last year they showed what could be possible with the HoloLens (whenever that materializes) and this year they're focusing more on the gaming together side of things. The new "Friendly Update" will allow PC (Windows 10 edition), mobile device, and VR players to all join and play in the same Realm.

You know how mobile ports of PC and console games always get left behind when it comes to new features? Minecraft: Pocket Edition players know what I'm talking about. The portable version of the block stacking game inches closer to parallel features for its PC counterpart, including fishing, skin support, and boats that hold a player and their pet. Aww!

Now it's time for some Terraria news! No, this has nothing to do with a secret new PC patch or the nifty Terraria: Otherworld. This is a good old fashioned update for the console version of the game, nudging it up to version 1.2.3 so it finally catches up to the items and features in the PC release.

Ever since the big (no, the HUGE) 1.2 update was released for the PC version of Terraria, owners of the console and mobile ports wondered when they were going to get a taste of the good stuff. At long last, Android and iOS users can enjoy the latest Terraria goodies on their little portable devices!

Another year of our lives gone, another year closer to death, another port of Terraria.  Originally released on the PC, the now massive 2D action-adventure game has found its home on a plethora of devices.  Most recently, it's been announced that you and seven other co-op pals can now relive the experience of fighting a glowing, multi-armed space skull on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

All sizes of Skylanders characters will soon be playable in the next installment of the hit figurine video game franchise. Look out for this year's title, Skylanders Trap Team to play miniature versions of your favorite characters. Additionally, tablet users will be able to get the same Skylanders experience as the console versions this fall.
