River City Girls 2 Launches Worldwide on December 15

It's no secret that we're highly anticipating River City Girls 2, the sequel to WayForward's seminal beat 'em up RPG. The Japanese version arrived at the beginning of the month courtesy of publisher Arc System Works, but the release date of the North American and European versions has been up in the air. Thankfully, things have wrapped up nicely and WayForward has now announced December 15 as River City Girls 2's worldwide release date.

We'll have to wait a little longer for one of the year's most anticipated beat 'em ups.

River City Girls 2 Arrives in Japan Dec. 1, North American Release Still Coming in 2022

If you asked about my two most anticipated co-op games of the year, I'd answer with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide and River City Girls 2. The PC version of Darktide launches this week, thankfully, but things are slightly more complicated for the Misako and Kyoko, the tough girls from River City. WayForward has confirmed that the Japanese and Asian versions of River City Girls 2 will launch on December 1, but the North American release is due later in 2022. That's cutting it close!

Earth Defense Force 6 Coming to Japan in August

It's ironic that a site that enjoys the Earth Defense Force series as much as we do hasn't covered the upcoming Earth Defense Force 6 until now. We've been busy, okay? It's rarely a happy occasion when a highly anticipated game gets pushed back, which has just happened with Fatshark's Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Tribes of Midgard Arrives Later This Month on PC and PlayStation

Around this time last year (which only feels like 5 years ago), we heard about a new action-survival game called Tribes of Midgard, which showed players running around a world fighting monsters from Norse legends, collecting materials, and building a home base. The title looked promising - particularly as it supports up to 10 players online - and during this year's Summer Game Fest, we finally got news of an official release date. Fell giants and defend the Seed of Yggdrasil with your buddies on July 27, 2021.

Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance Available Today

One of the bigger nostalgia trips for gamers of a certain age/generation is the Dark Alliance series, which had their heyday in the PS2/Original Xbox/Gamecube era. These action-RPGs provided a Diablo-like experience long before Diablo III was even a twinkle in Blizzard's eye. Today, a new entry, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, has emerged for PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series, and initial response is... well, it's not great.
