Warhammer, Zombies and Humans!

Xbox Game Pass Brings More Co-Op

Some co-op favorite will be available via Xbox Game Pass this month. These games include Zombie Army Trilogy, Human: Fall Flat and Warhammer Vermintide 2. If you’re unfamiliar, Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service where, for a monthly fee, players can pick from a selection of  games to play for free as long as you maintain your subscription. The ever-growing library features over 100 titles, and new games are coming at different points throughout July.

Warface Is Coming To Consoles

Warface, the free-to-play first person shooter developed by Crytek's Kiev branch, first arrived on PC in 2013.  While the game's PC community began to swell, work began to create a version for Xbox 360, which was accomplished the following year.  Unfortunately, that initial stab at the console market quickly petered out, but Crytek has decided to make another attempt at console popularity, this time bringing the title to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Bringing couch co-op to the cloud

Couch Co-Op Night Stream Recap - Fight'N Rage and Wizard of Legend

There you are on your PC with a great co-op game to play, but no buddy available to sit on your couch and play it with you. What to do? Well, that's exactly the problem the folks over at Parsec wanted to solve. This third-party software allows you to turn any couch co-op game into an online co-op game! Nick and Mike took it for spin to see how it fares as they checked out Fight'N Rage and Wizard of Legend.

No word about this affecting other regions

Starhawk's Online Capabilities Have Been Terminated For Europe

Over the weekend, it appears Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe sunsetted the servers for the 2012 PlayStation 3 title, Starhawk. A note has been added to all European PS Store listings for the game that basically says "you can no longer play this online." There's been no official statement about whether this is getting applied to all regions or not, so for now, this appears to only be affecting the one region.

Endure the Summer Heat With Friends With July's Games With Gold

July... Of all the months in the calendar year, this one has the distinction of being my least favorite. Mainly due to the fact that the unbearable heat (which is my natural nemesis) makes life feel questionable. But, put that aside, and I guess it's ok. If your idea of a perfect July is being indoors with air conditioning and video games with friends, then good news! July's Games with Gold includes three co-op titles: Assault Android CactusDeath Squared, and Splinter Cell Conviction (360, backwards compatible).

Our Weekend In Gaming: No Bosses Allowed

Whoooo!  Nick and Jason are too busy to respond to our weekly email, meaning this edition of "Our Weekend in Gaming" is a #BossFreeZone.  Get lost, authorities.  This weekend, we live our lives with no rules and no limits.  I'm gonna go play games I didn't even mention below, just to prove that this fella marches to his own dang drum.  I may even go listen to, like, a punk band or something.  Or at least some folksy protest songs.

New update adds couch co-op for console version

Slay Mythical Creatures in Titan Quest With a Buddy on Your Couch

As if seeing a console release wasn't enough, THQ Nordic continues to amaze me with its ongoing support of Titan Quest, an action-RPG that is now over 12 years old! The developer/publisher dropped a new update a couple days ago that fixes a number of bugs and adds two play couch co-op to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. This update will be included in the Nintendo Switch version, too, when it arrives on July 31.

"Celebrate the independence of a nation by blowing up a small piece of it"

Independence Pack DLC Adds New Vehicles and Weapons to State of Decay 2

Undead Labs is getting into the 4th of July spirit a little early with the Independence Pack for State of Decay 2. The DLC is currently available for both the Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of the game and if, like me, you're into driving around in vehicles opening doors, then this pack adds to the excitement with the introduction of new cars like "The Meatwagon" and "The Burninator."

While the Switch may be the main platform of choice for Nintendo these days, they haven't forgotten about their other portable system, the 3DS. On September 7, the action-RPG variant of their popular Yo-Kai Watch series, called YO-KAI WATCH BLASTERS, will be making its way to our shores and you'll be able to team up with three friends to take down bosses with your collection of spirits.

Play in co-op or battle with more classic Konami characters

Contra Heroes Arrive in Super Bomberman R

No sooner did we publish our co-op review of Super Bomberman R than Konami published an update to every version of the game that adds a host of unlockable characters for co-op and battle modes. The biggest name characters are Snake and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, but as co-op fans we’re most excited for playable characters from Konami’s traditionally cooperative Contra and Goemon franchises.
