Three went down into that pit...

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Festival of the Lost and Pit of Heresy Stream Recap

As you've probably seen from our past few "Weekend in Gaming" posts, many of us can't get enough of the Shadowkeep expansion for Destiny 2. Last week, Bungie kicked off the annual "Festival of the Lost," which is basically the in-game version of Halloween, as well as the new three player dungeon, "Pit of Heresy." We decided to hop into both of these to get into the spooky spirit... a few days after Halloween.

There's never been a better time to play Destiny

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep Stream Recap and Impressions

Last week, Bungie made some significant changes to Destiny 2. Specifically, they shifted the base game ("New Light") to be free-to-play, revamped how armor works in the game, put everyone on the same equal footing (i.e., level 50 character with power level 750), shifted how a few activities work, added a "Season Rank" (aka, "Battle Pass"), and also dropped a new content update, Shadowkeep. It's a lot to go through, and we did our best to cover it during our "Let's Play Co-Op" stream this week.

Hold on to yer butts!

Destiny 2: New Light and Shadowkeep Launch Today

The day some of us have been waiting for has finally arrived: "Shadowkeep," the newest expansion to Destiny 2, has arrived. It also brings with it the free-to-play version of the game, dubbed Destiny 2: New Light, so you and your buddies can team up for some fun regardless of who's bought or played what. However, the division of what's included in each of these things can be a bit confusing, so we've attempted to break it all down below. Fair warning: it's a long read.

The initial first steps of this process

Destiny 2's Steam Linking on PC is Live Today, Cross Save Tomorrow

Earlier this summer, with the reveal of the next Destiny 2 expansion, Shadowkeep, Bungie announced that their first-person shooter/action-RPG would be getting Cross Save support across all platforms (PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One). This functionality would allow players to use the same characters, same gear, and same progress across multiple platforms with just a few exceptions. In last week's "This Week at Bungie" post, the developer released some more details on what all this entails, and that it'll go live tomorrow, August 21.

There's never been a better time to grow fat from strength

Destiny 2: Season of Opulence Stream Recap and Impressions

The final bit of content for Year 2 of Destiny 2 dropped a few weeks ago: the Season of Opulence. The big attraction this time around for all Annual Pass holders is the new six-player matchmade activity, The Menagerie. This "raid-lite" experience challenges your fireteam to progress through a series of objectives before facing a boss at the end. All of that is pretty fun, but it gets better: your rewards for completing all this is to "choose your own loot."

Huh... turns out the Moon really IS haunted

Prepare to Return to the Moon in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep

There are a lot of big changes on the way for Destiny 2. Last week, Bungie released a new video documentary (aka, "ViDoc") that not only covered the next big expansion that's arriving this September, but also a digital storefront change, cross-save across all platforms, and a free-to-play version of the game that includes all of the content from Destiny 2's first year. Bungie is really busting out, here.

Enter The Menagerie in Destiny 2's Season of Opulence

The final season for year 2 of Destiny 2 kicks off today with the "Season of Opulence." This is the third content drop as part of the new "seasons of content" approach that kicked off with Forsaken back in September (as opposed to the DLC seen last year with "Warmind" and "Curse of Osiris") and much like the "Black Armory" and "Joker's Wild," Opulence will add new exotic weapons, new legendary gear, new Pinnacle weapons, and new activities.

Everyone's favorite cool uncle is back

Destiny 2 Joker's Wild Stream Recap and Impressions

The 6th season of content for Destiny 2 kicked off a couple weeks ago. Dubbed the "Season of the Drifter," Annual Pass owners get new content via "Joker's Wild." This includes two new modes to play (Gambit Prime and Reckoning), a new bounty along with some lore via the "Invitations of the Nine," a new exotic (everyone's favorite/hated hand cannon, Thorn), and a new questline tied to swearing your loyalty to the Vanguard or the Drifter. As most of that content has now been made available, we decided to hop back in and check out how all of it stacks up.
