If the internet were a bucket, it would be a incredibly leaky one. The latest leak comes via Sony Hong Kong who mistakenly revealed details on the upcoming Mass Effect 3 DLC before promptly removing it. However, this being 2012 someone was able to grab the information first. Kotuku inform us that the DLC will involve an expansion in the multiplayer universe and not the single player. Check out Read More for the lowdown.
Good news PlayStation 3 owners! Mass Effect 3's weekend XP events are now available on your platform! I told you it was a good time to buy the game. This weekend's challenge is called Operation Exorcist and you can net you and your co-op buddies some sweet packs of goodies.
Remember when Mass Effect 3 was on sale for $40 and we thought that was a steal? Yeah, that was so LAST WEEK. This week, or rather - today, the epic space RPG with a four player co-op mode is on sale for just $30, $25 on the PC. That's 50% off the normal price. It's all part of Amazon's Gold Box deals which run for 24 hours.
Mass Effect 3 is by all accounts, a damn good game that's selling quite well. According to Gamespot, the game has sold over 1.3 million copies across the 360, PS3 and PC. Bravo.
I was skeptikcal Bioware announced that Mass Effect 3 was going to have a co-op mode. As information trickled out to the masses, I drew conclusions that it was going to be a tacked-on horde mode rip-off that was added to the game in order to fill a checkbox requirement. I was being selfish, I didn’t want anything to sour my experience thus far in my wonderful space opera that I have been journeying through for the past five years. Having the Galactic Readiness level correlate to your multiplayer progress and allowing it to alter your single player ending was an ingenious way to force me to dip into the multiplayer even before I had finished the game. Well played Bioware, well played.
We have ourselves a DLC worth investing in! Why? Because we don’t have to invest anything besides the time it takes to download it! Mass Effect 3’s “Resurgence Pack” will be available this Tuesday for free, just as long as you own an online pass.
The spring gaming season is well underway and we've already seen a slew of co-op game releases, like Binary Domain, Journey, and Shoot Many Robots, where cooperative gameplay was a focus for the game from the start. Yet we've also seen some major AAA releases, like Mass Effect 3, hit store shelves where the addition of a multiplayer component is something new for the series; or an existing series, such as The Darkness II, swap it's formerly competitive multiplayer mode for a strictly cooperative one. Finally, you have the revival of older games that have had their format completely changed - leaving them ripe for the traditional player vs player multiplayer style to which we've grown accustomed - and still maintain the co-op gameplay (we're looking at you, Syndicate).
As soon as I saw the Razer Onza with the Mass Effect 3 branding, I knew I had to have it. The design of the Xbox 360 and PC controller is an instant stand out and even if you aren’t a fan of Mass Effect, the device is pure gadgetry sexiness. But what exactly is it? It’s a wired controller built for serious gamers who like to tweak and get the most out of their controller. There’s two big ways The Razer Onza Tournament Edition achieves this.
Last weekend's XP event for Mass Effect 3 was a large success, with over 3 million Brutes decimated in the game's four player co-op mode. It seems Bioware was so proud of the turnout, they decided to hold another event just in time for our Co-Op Night tonight on Xbox 360.
When the folks at Xbox asked us to co-host a Mass Effect 3 co-op night, we couldn't refuse. This game has dominated my friends list all month, and I've heard it's co-op mode is exactly what everyone was hoping for. Mass Effect, plus friends. Sounds like a great formula for fun to me!
It looks like EA is taking a play from Call of Duty and Gears of War by having special weekend promotions for the multiplayer aspect of their game. This weekend you an hop on Mass Effect 3's co-op gameplay with a chance to earn special item packs just by completing the following challenges.
If my Xbox friends list is anything to go by a lot of Co-Optimus readers are currently playing Mass Effect 3, both in single player and in co-op. The co-op maps may be fun, but I have played them all, shot all the bad guys and juiced up my hero to over Level 40. I want more and this leaked image suggests that I will get what I want.
Mass Effect 3 was released last week on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. The game concludes the epic trilogy of Commander Shepard and the crew of the Normandy...or does it? New to the game is a four player co-op mode which actually has an effect on your single player campaign. You can read more about the game in our Co-Op Spotlight and we'll have our review later this week.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas Effect Triple mofos. That's where it's at this weekend. A large chunk of the Co-Opticrew will be heading to spaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace to take on the Reapers with Shepard or their co-op buddies at their side.
Today's the day. Today's the day Commander Sheppard and crew take back Earth. Today's the day they need your help. As a fan of a the Mass Effect franchise, possibly my favorite franchise of this generation, the suspense of picking up a copy of the sequel is killing me. I want the story. I want the music. I want the co-op. I want Mass Effect 3.
