Konami has just released a boatload of assets for Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker on the PSP. Included in these screens are the cross overs with Assassin's Creed 2 and Monster Hunter as well as plenty of action, well, sneaking, shots of Snake and his co-op pals in action.
Seriously though, 84 screenshots? And this is after we cut out some of the fluffy ones, originally there was over 120! Next time just create a video.

What happens you mix a well-known and loved co-op title with a well-known and loved title that just recently added co-op? One would presume the answer would be "a whole lot of awesome," and we certainly hope that proves to be the case. In a rather surprising reveal yesterday from Famitsu magazine, the latest entry in the Metal Gear Solid series, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP, will include bosses from the popular dungeon crawler/MMO co-op franchise Monster Hunter. While it's great that Peace Walker will be integrating some very solid co-op experiences into the game, we must admit that mixing these two titles together is a rather interesting choice and one that we're certainly eager to try out. The crossovers and tie-ins don't end there, however, as Hideo Kojima had a few more interesting reveals today.

Capcom has announced Monster Hunter Freedom 3 for release in Japan sometime before the "end of 2010". As with previous Freedom titles, this one will be exclusive to the PlayStation Portable.
Cooperative play is confirmed, but no official numbers or connectivity yet. Based on the series' history, you can probably bet on 4-player ad hoc co-op, at least. A trailer has been posted, showcasing some of the new monsters, swords, armor...and guns. This should be interesting.

Hot out of Nintendo's media summit yesterday in San Francisco comes a handful of Monster Hunter Tri news for the Wii. The biggest news is that the game will be free to play online, something that wasn't a luxury for Japanese gamers who had to fork over $8 a month to play.
If you do play the four player co-op mode online, you can use Nintendo's Wii-speak microphone attachment to communicate with players. As we reported earlier, the game will be bundled with the new Classic Controller Pro which will retail for $59.99, or you can buy the game separately for $49.99.

Bad news folks - Capcom is packing up the zeppelin and moving Lost Planet 2 and Monster Hunter 3 (US release) out of early next year. The latest investor docs for the company have pushed both games past the fourth fiscal quarter which ends on March 31st, 2010.
No new release dates were given for either title.
Thankfully you'll have plenty of co-op games like Army of Two: The 40th Day and Splinter Cell Conviction early next year to fill the void left by these two Capcom titles.

As we reported last week, Sony is bringing adhocParty, a service that enables formerly local only co-op and multiplayer PSP game to branch out a bit, to the U.S. soon. In this case, "soon" meant "next week" as the adhocParty service is now available in the Playstation Store for download. To go with the launch of this service, the good folks at the Sony Playstation Blog have provided a brief walkthrough video of how to get this service up and running so you can enjoy your previously adhoc only PSP co-op titles over the Internet... or can you? Check out the video after the break to see if you caught the same caveat we did.

Monster Hunter 3, or Monster Hunter Tri has been out in Japan for some time now. Fans in North America and Europe are beginning to wonder when they can get their hands on the latest game in the series, a series which has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. 2010 will indeed be the year of Tri on the Wii, and it comes packed with co-op gaming goodness.
Monster Hunter Tri will feature brand new underwater environments, two player split-screen co-op play as well as four player online co-op play. There's no official release date yet, but if you are heading to GamesCom in Europe at the end of the month, you'll be able to get your hands on the title.
We've got a fresh batch of screens and a new trailer to hold you over till then.

If you're headed to the San Diego Comic Con, which runs July 23rd through the 26th, you might want to tote your PSP and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite along into the gaming goodness. Why? Not only will you be able to find other Monster Hunter gamers to co-op with, you'll have access to eight brand new quests totally free thanks to Capcom.
The quests will be available at the Capcom booth, and though Capcom claims that only "6 quests will fit on a memory stick" - I'm not quite sure what size they are referring to. Better bring the big stick just in case.
Also, be sure to check out our review of the game.

Bigfoot, Lochness, Godzilla. The monsters found in Capcom's Monster Hunter Freedom Unite for the PSP make these creatures look like poodles. We review the latest iteration of the game as we take our four player hunting party into the wilderness to bring down beasts.

Nothing says Independence Day than fighting gigantic monsters for gold. With that Capcom has released a brand new free downloadable quest for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on the PSP.
In this new quest, Triumvirate of Sands, you’ll have three monsters to take on out in the desert – a Daimyo Hermitaur, Tigrex, and Plesioth! Yikes! But it’s well worth it as you stand a chance to make 12300z! If you want to see a video clip of what quest looks like head on over to http://www.capcom-unity.com/ and check out Snow’s blog.
To access the quest simply click the "Download" link from the in game menu and you're good to go! There should be a new quest each week for the next couple of months. I hope they release a quest where I can hunt Harry from Harry and the Hendersons.
