Transfer progress between platforms too!

Phantasy Star Online 2 coming to Steam August 5 with cross-platform co-op

When SEGA’s Phantasy Star Online 2 launched on the Windows 10 Store on May 27, fan excitement was quickly tempered with disappointment over numerous technical issues. Some issues resulted from players having originally disabled or changed Xbox settings during their Windows installations, but others seem to have resulted from an extremely buggy installer. Phantasy Star Online 2 Will Be Released Outside of Japan Next Year

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy... remember seven years ago when Sega said they'd bring their action-RPG MMO Phantasy Star Online 2 to the U.S.? Well, guess what?! They were telling the truth! ... Eventually! Amid all the other news coming out last week during E3 2019, the one bit that was perhaps the most surprising was that this F2P game would be making its way to the Xbox One and Windows 10 sometime "Spring 2020."

Online co-op sputters and dies, if it ever really lived in the first place.

Nintendo to Pull Wii and DS Online Services in May

Get in your last few rounds of online Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart DS, because on May 20, Nintendo is handing its Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service a pair of cement shoes. This means matchmaking, leaderboards and online play for over 400 Wii and DS games will cease to exist, forcing players around the world to sit with people in person to play last-gen multiplayer games.

Phantasy Star Online was probably the first online multiplayer action-RPG for consoles. Thousands of SEGA Dreamcast and GameCube players enjoyed teaming up as hunters on the harsh alien planet of Ragol. Phantasy Star Universe, Zero, and Portable have since followed, but a true sequel has long remained as elusive as a blue rappy... Until now. SEGA has officially confirmed Phantasy Star Online 2 will see a western release! Several variables - such as whether both the PC and Vita versions will be brought over - remain unknown, but we do have an announcement trailer and screenshots to share with you today.
