Studio MDHR's been hard at work since their tough-as-nails platform shooter, Cuphead, first released back in 2017. Most recently, the game just finished being ported to the Nintendo Switch back in April of this year. With that done, the developers' attention (or more of it, anyway) has turned towards putting out the game's first DLC pack.
Last month, Gearbox announced/revealed new DLC for Borderlands 2 titled "Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary." This add-on content provides a bit of a story bridge between the end of Borderlands 2 and the start of the forthcoming Borderlands 3. With not many new co-op releases these days, we decided to hop into the DLC and see how Pandora looks nearly 7 years later...
Last month, The Coalition showed off the new three player co-op mode that, Escape, will be a part of Gears 5 when it arrives in September. Rather than staying in one spot and fighting off wave after wave of enemies, Escape puts you in the boots of one of three members of a "Hivebuster" crew and tasks you with being able to get out from the middle of a Hive before the angry Swarm, or the deadly bio weapon you deployed, takes you out. In three new videos, you can now get a chance to "meet" the members of the crew and go ahead and call "dibs" on your fave.
With the flurry of information that comes during E3 every year some nuggets of information can get skimmed over, and this particular one is pure gold. During the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare E3 Coliseum panel hosted by Geoff Keighley, members of the development team from Infinity Ward revealed that not only will the Special Operations (“Spec Ops” for short) return to the upcoming reimagining of the Modern Warfare series, but it will still feature co-op.
Well, well, well, if it isn't the ol' Co-Opticrew up to their usual weekend antics. You try to trust them, right? You try to give them some space and assume they won't all hop back into their comfort games, and just look what happens. I, for one, feel like a danged fool, but I'll let it slide this one time. I've placed the culprits on notice, though, and if this happens for a second consecutive weekend, they can be prepared for some very strongly worded letters.
After 8 months since it first entered Early Access, Question's The Blackout Club will see a full release at the end of next month. Soon you and your friends will be able to team up online and try to solve the mysterious disappearances in your hometown while also attempting to avoid getting snatched yourselves.
Koji Igarashi himself has returned from atop his otherworldly spire to bless us, the pitiful gaming rabble, with a brand new "Igavania" title. Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has been hotly anticipated since its massive Kickstarter run back in 2015, and while companion title Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon satiated that hunger for a time, it was still considered an (extremely competent) appetizer.
Looking for a way to enjoy a popular board game without having to worry about painting a bunch of figures and coordinating a time when three of your friends can come over for a whole afternoon? You're in luck! Gloomhaven, a digital adaptation of the game developed by Flaming Fowl Studios and published by Asmodee Digital, is arriving in Steam Early Access on July 17.
Each piece of gaming hardware can greatly alter the experience of the game being played. A faulty headset and the whole team feels the impact when you fail to communicate danger in time; a lackluster mouse and your interaction with the world through selection or direction can become more of a hurdle than it should be; and with a subpar keyboard the entire experience can be slammed to a halt, no matter the game. Thankfully, Kaliber’s HVER PRO RGB Keyboard does a great job whether it’s under the pressure that comes from the heat of a game or writing this very review.
The final bit of content for Year 2 of Destiny 2 dropped a few weeks ago: the Season of Opulence. The big attraction this time around for all Annual Pass holders is the new six-player matchmade activity, The Menagerie. This "raid-lite" experience challenges your fireteam to progress through a series of objectives before facing a boss at the end. All of that is pretty fun, but it gets better: your rewards for completing all this is to "choose your own loot."
The promised content update for Risk of Rain 2 has arrived today. The "Scorched Acres" update is free and adds a new playable character (REX), a new level (the eponymous Scorched Acres), a new boss, new items, and more. If it's been a little bit since your last run through the rain, now's a good time to hop back in.
