Classic Warlords "Reinvented" This Summer... With Co-Op

If you were of gaming age in the early 1980s, you probably had an Atari 2600, or knew someone who did.  And, chances are, you played one of the best titles for that system: Warlords.  Though originally an arcade game, the port was far more well-known and successful, and is generally regarded as one of the best games for Atari's vintage console.  Throughout the years, several remakes have been made, including an XBLA version a few years ago.  But through the years, Warlords has always been a competitive experience.

Classic Co-Op Sega Genesis Titles Hitting the PSN

What do Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Streets of Rage 2, Golden Axe 2, Comix Zone, and Altered Beast have is common?  Give up?  They will all be available on the PlayStation Network for $4.99 each. If you are a PlayStation Plus subscriber you will get all six titles for the low, low price of nada.  Zip, zilch, zero. (Aside from the initial PlayStation Plus subscription fee.)  Each title is a timed release, so you can expect one new game a month through August.  PlayStation Plus members will get the games earlier than regular Sony customers.  They're also better looking and have more friends.

Magicka: Vietnam Release Date Announced, New Screens

What does every wizard need?  If you said an RPG-7, you probably worked on Magicka: Vietnam, either that, or you have some weird form of Tourette's which makes you scream "RPG-7" every time you read a simple wizard query.  You should get that checked out.  Earlier this month we announced the first major expansion to the excellent four player co-op romp, MagickaWe were more than a little surprised to learn that the new content would be taking the wizards to Vietnam. Hilarious, right?  Check out the new screens after the break.

SEGA Drops Renegade Ops Via Digital Download

I'd say this news was hot off the presses, but I'm not sure that particular bit of hyperbole is relevant any more; perhaps "only just recently sent through hamster-powered interweb tubes into our inbox" would be more appropriate?  Perhaps not.  In any event, we just got word of a brand new downloadable title coming from the fine folks over at SEGA.  Titled Renegade Ops, the game is described as a military co-op shooter.  That right there is enough to get our teamwork glands salivating.

From the Makers Of Titan Quest - First Look at Grim Dawn

Do you remember Titan Quest?  Did you like Titan Quest?  Of course you did.  The makers of Titan Quest went on to form Crate Entertainment, and that development studio has been hard at work on a title called Grim Dawn.  We have a new video of the game in action.  It looks very Diablo-esque.  Grim Dawn can be viewed as a spiritual successor to Titan Quest.  The game is still in its early stages, but the combat footage looks promising, if bloody chunks are your thing.  No word on how co-op will be supported, but the game's website at least acknowledges co-operative play:

Good news for all you technophiles out there.  That expensive TV will be getting more use this September.  Resistance 3 will support stereoscopic 3DTVs.  According to PlayStation.Blog, "overwhelming community demand" was the cause.  Okay, community, start demanding split-screen with online co-op for all games, please.  There's even more good news for those of you who like playing with plastic guns.  Resistance 3 will support the PlayStation Move and the Sharp Shooter peripheral.
