A Sad Day In The Caves

Spelunky 2 Delayed

The upcoming Spelunky 2, which was set to release later in 2019, has been delayed. According to the game’s developer, Derek Yu, the sequel to 2008’s Spelunky is requiring more time as “the density and detail of the game is demanding more time.” This may come as a shock to some, considering how simple Spelunky seems on the surface, but due to the few details that have come from Yu up to this point there is no way to know what components of the sequel will be getting the extra time.

The initial first steps of this process

Destiny 2's Steam Linking on PC is Live Today, Cross Save Tomorrow

Earlier this summer, with the reveal of the next Destiny 2 expansion, Shadowkeep, Bungie announced that their first-person shooter/action-RPG would be getting Cross Save support across all platforms (PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One). This functionality would allow players to use the same characters, same gear, and same progress across multiple platforms with just a few exceptions. In last week's "This Week at Bungie" post, the developer released some more details on what all this entails, and that it'll go live tomorrow, August 21.

If You Missed It: Iceborne Expansion Won't Arrive on PC Until 2020

There's been a lot of good words floating around out there about the forthcoming "Iceborne" expansion for Monster Hunter: World. The quality-of-live improvements, in particular, have been appreciated, but there's a lot of content there, too. There's also been a few bad words floating around: delayed release on PC. It wasn't clear how long PC players would have to wait, but Capcom cleared that up: January 2020.

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends Coming to Switch Next Year

Here's a surprise: a Bubble Bobble sequel will arrive soon. Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is coming to the Nintendo Switch and will support four player couch co-op. The original is, apparently, hugely popular in Europe so if you live there, you'll be getting the game first on November 19, 2019. Fans in the U.S. will need to wait until sometime "first quarter 2020" to play.
