Backyard Football 2010 brings Co-Op to the Playground

The Backyard Football series has been around now for over 10 years, with roots on the PC.  It has a long history of family friendly style football perfect for kids combined with real NFL players and teams.  Madden NFL 10 may have added an online co-op mode this year, but Backyard Football didn't want to feel left out.  The game is going to offer a unique 2 vs 2 co-op mode, perfect for parents that want to play with their kids.

Co-Op Classics: Ten Years of Dreamcast Co-Op

Another classic video game console celebrates a milestone this week.  Sega's Dreamcast was released in North America ten years ago this past week, on 9/9/99.  Though the console was short lived, it has developed quite a following, even a decade later.  Many features of the Dreamcast were ahead of its time, most notably a standard modem and internet support allowing online co-op for the first time on a home console.  To celebrate the 10th birthday of Sega's final console, we'll take a look at some of the best co-op games the system had to offer, as submitted by staff and readers. Elemental: War of Magic PAX 2009 Impressions

Elemental: War of Magic is an upcoming Stardock project based on and set in a world of a book by CEO Brad Wardell.  The basic premise of the game is a turn based strategy RPG that's both easily accessible and runs on a large range of system configurations.  In fact, the current goal is to get the game running on a Netbook.  We got some hands on time with the game at PAX and came back with some impressions.

Left 4 Dead 2 Boycotters Visit Valve HQ

We've got a pretty interesting story for you today, regarding upcoming zombie slaying sequel Left 4 Dead 2.  You'll recall that many people were understandably upset at the announcement of L4D2, coming so soon after the first game, and before any DLC had even been announced.  An internet petition and boycott ensued.  Valve decided to fly the two most vocal boycotters out to check things out and hopefully smooth things over.  (I guess internet petitions do work after all!)  Interested in what these two have to say after the visit?
