On the Download Issue 35: Cool to be Old School

It's time for another issue of On the Download, our monthly feature about downloadable games and content. This is my first time covering this column, and I was a bit perplexed as to what to discuss. I'm not exactly a hardcore PC gamer, but Andrew already covered that perspective a few issues ago. Do I dabble in the occasional indie bundle? Sure, but that's more Jason's domain. Exclusive Akai Katana Co-Op Screens are Packed with Bullets

Shoot-em-up fans across America rejoiced when Rising Star Games announced their plans to bring Akai Katana stateside. The game is widely considered to be Japanese shmup maker Cave's magnum opus - or at least its swan swong, since the developer has switched to making games exclusively for mobile platforms like Windows Phone. Of course, we're interested in Akai Katana for its 2 player local co-op, a welcome feature in any shmup. Rising Star has graciously provided Co-Optimus with several exclusive co-op screenshots.
