We're back with another exciting Co-Opticast as Nick and Mike take you on an epic journey through their gaming catalog. There's a lot to talk about, including impressions of plenty of solid co-op titles like PayDay, Dungeon Defenders and more. The news is also discussed with Battlefield 3, Mass Effect 3 and Gears of War 3 on the tip of everyone's tongue. Seriously...what's up with all these 3's?
We've been anticipating Payday: The Heist ever since we got our greedy little hands on it at E3. Does it take the bank or wind up leaving it's wallet at the scene of the crime? Find out in our Co-Op Review.
Have you somehow not picked up Dead Island yet? What the heck is wrong with you? I have it on good authority that this is one of the best co-op titles of the year. So what are you waiting for? A sale? Well you're in luck! You can buy Dead Island on the Xbox 360 or PS3 for the low, low price of $40 bucks right now on Amazon! You can get the PC version for $30! It's an Halloween miracle! Ok, so we kind of lied yesterday. When we said that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine's DLC would be up shortly on the Xbox 360, we actually meant - well - we didn't know exactly what shortly mean. According to an official post on the Space Marine forums, Relic found a bug in the title update/DLC that caused connection issues in co-op on the 360 version causing them to pull it at the last minute.
We got a brand new trailer today for the upcoming four player co-op platformer, Rayman Origins. The trailer showcases Rayman's adventure in the belly of the beast, or rather, inside a giant fat red dragon. It's a colorful and impressive looking game that is sure to look even better on a nice big HDTV.
You may have heard little whisperings about Okabu, like how it’s a pro-environment game, or how it sports a cutesy artstyle. Or this PSN-exclusive game’s release last week may have quietly slipped under you radar. Whether you have some invested interest in the game or if this is the first time you’ve heard much about it, we’re here to give you the verdict in our Co-Op Review.
Some of the best co-op experiences come as a surprise and this was the case with Dungeon Siege 3. Despite the issues with the camera and co-op experience, it was still really fun game. However, it lacked something - mummies. This oversight has now been resolved with the newly released Treasures of the Sun DLC available across all platforms.
We first played Otomedius Excellent, Konami’s 2.5D shoot-em-up, at this year's E3 convention. Since then, Konami has steadily updated the game’s Facebook page but hasn’t otherwise spoken about the game too much. This has been mostly due to a few delays as they worked hard on preparing the English version of the game for release. Retailers Amazon and GameStop have been playing the guessing game with Otomedius’ release date, giving it a November 1 placeholder release date. Co-Optimus has some good news for shmup fans today: Konami has informed us that the November 1 release date is now official!
We don't often do reviews for anything but games here at Co-Optimus. Sure, we cover new game systems when they are released, and the occasional accessory like a headset or keyboard. When Nick asked me if I'd be interested in doing a review for a bean bag, I was certainly surprised, but definitely interested. The kind folks at Sumo sent the perfect model for a site dedicated to co-op gaming: the Couple, with room for two.
Today is a good day! Space Marine's Exterminatus Mode launches on the PS3, PC, and Xbox 360*. That's the promised four player co-op mode. The best thing? It's absolutely free. Players simply need to fire up a copy of Space Marine, and then they "will be prompted to download a small u...
Hey look! It's the official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 launch trailer! Isn't it nice to see a little game like this getting some exposure? It looks like a mean old terrorist is up to no good, and it's up to you to stop him. With bullets. Probably to his face area. Let's not kid ourselves here. You are buying this game, whether you want to or not. I don't want to play MW3 at all, but I'm literally pre-ordering it in another window as I'm typing this. You can do the same thing when you watch the trailer! Use this link and help support Co-Optimus!
