Call of Duty: Black Ops Now on Backwards Compatibility List

Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops was a bit of a different take on the series up until that point. Rather than looking at World War II or modern combat, it delved into the secretive and conspiratorial world of clandestine operations. It also laid the groundwork for the familiar zombie DLC campaign. For all you fans out there, you can now enjoy the game on your Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.

What did the year bring?

The Review of Co-Op Videogames in 2015

With 2015 in the books we thought we'd look back at the year and see what the most popular highlights were for our readers. Looking over the top stories it's surprising to see some things in the list, namely Rock Band 4, Warhammer: End of Times Vermintide. We all but thought that the music genre was dead but Rock Band 4 proved to us otherwise, folks still enjoy their fake plastic instruments with friends. And Warhammer: EoTV came out of nowhere to be one of the best co-op games we played this year.

Because ALL creepy castles are literally turgid with zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies DLC Launches Feb 2nd

Blowing the brains out of some cybernetically-enhanced non-American in a video game might not have the same pysche-crushing effect as doing so in real life, but you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Maybe that cluster of polygons resembling a human being had a virtual wife, and a small, pixelated child somewhere who will grow up fatherless, because some overpowered Main Character blasted everything in his path. But, hey! You know whose family won't miss them when you splatter their guts all over the pavement? Zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Co-Op Review

The Call of Duty franchise has been a weird entity in my eyes. It is one of the largest franchises of the past decade, yet it bounces back and forth between development studios with each installment into the series. This results in an uneven experience from game to game with slight changes in the campaign structure, weapon feel, and character movem...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Out Today, Packed to the Brim with Co-Op And Zombies

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 brings back co-op proper to the series, featuring a full four player co-op campaign on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Gamers on the Xbox 360 and PS3 are missing out on the campaign unfortunately. That said everyone does get the four player co-op zombies mode which can be enjoyed either online or in local split-screen play. Take that Master Chief.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Allows Map Creation And Modding On PC

How far Call of Duty has come from its humble roots back in 2003, when legions of Allies were storming the beaches of Normandy to defeat the Axis scourge. Nowadays we wouldn't dream of associating CoD with anything less than jetpacking up the side of some PMC's techno-base, or eviscerating an exo-zombie with some sub-atomic laser. Yet, the folks down at Treyarch aren't quite as disconnected from the past. Case in point: Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, on PC, at least, will have map creation and modding tools.
