The Co-Opticrew is throwing caution to the wind this weekend and playing whatever our sweet, gamer hearts desire. While we typically advocate for a tightly-scheduled cadence of video game delights, we've decided to add a little variety into the mix. After all, what's life without some spontaneity? Who knows - if this weekend goes well, maybe we'll replicate these ideas in other parts of our lives. Anyone down to hitchhike across the country next month?
Most of the titles being previewed and released lately have fallen within the parameters of what I expect from a video game. Orc slaying, kart racing, etc. Occasionally, though, a game is unearthed that I've never quite seen before and didn't know I wanted.

As part of the Steam Game Festival 2020, a limited set of games are getting some timeboxed demos. One of those is Project Haven, a tactical RPG set in a gritty futuristic city. There's definitely some Syndicate like vibes from this one, with a splash of XCOM - but Project Haven looks to do some unique things with camera angles possibly giving players some more control.
Zen Studios have announced a sequel to the 2013 action strategy game, CastleStorm called CastleStorm II, the new title adds a host of new features that create a deeper experience for players. But don't worry folks, it's not "completely different." Best of all, like the previous game, the campaign can be enjoyed with a friend by your side for co-op play.
Now that Sony and Microsoft have revealed more details about their upcoming consoles, you'd think the Co-Opticrew would be at each other's throats this weekend over who has the better launch lineup. Just last week I mentioned to someone that demos "weren't really a thing" anymore. Though I suppose, when you think about it, alphas and betas have taken the place of those. But fret not - because The Red Solstice 2: Survivors is making demos sexy again by having a demo version of the game made available on June 16th. Even better, the demo is focused purely on co-op play with your friends!

Such is the experience being conveyed in Lumberhill, an upcoming co-op title from 2BIGo and Another Road Publishing.
As the days grow warmer and the evenings longer, having more games to play with family and friends is important. Thankfully, Games With Gold has provided Xbox Live Gold members with another free co-op title in 2017’s Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr. The game is available for Xbox One for the 30 days from May 16th to June 15th. Unfortunately, Warhammer is also the only co-op title making its way to May’s Games With Gold, as the other titles featured are V Rally 4, The Sensible World of Soccer and Overlord.
