Eon Altar Now on Kickstarter

You may remember that this last year at PAX East, I went hands-on with a neat little game called Eon AltarEon Altar combines a tabletop RPG experience with the modern technology of smartphones and tablets for pretty awesome results. Last week, a kickstarter was launched for the game, and now it's your turn to help out if you want to see this game come to life.

One big, connected action-RPG world

Ascend: New Gods Headed to PC in Addition to Xbox 360, Windows Phone

At Co-Optimus, we've always been impressed with Signal Studios' console releases. Toy Soldiers was a fine first outing, deftly mixing the tower defense and action genres with a dash of nostalgia. The follow-up, Toy Soldiers: Cold War really put the developer on our radar thanks to its addition of cooperative multiplayer. Signal's next game, Ascend: New Gods (first announced at E3) looks more ambitious than not only their previous games, but even a great many retail titles. While Ascend's initial announcement only mentioned the Xbox 360 and Windows Phone platforms, we're pleased to share some exclusive news with you today. It's coming to PC next year as well!

Metal Sonic gets around these days.

Sonic 4: Episode II Scores Release Dates AND a Cool Bonus For Episode I Owners

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II, the highly-anticipated sequel to Sonic 4, has a release date at last. And when I say that, I don’t mean just the XBLA and PSN versions have release dates. The PC and Windows Phone ports have them too! Even better news is that owners of both episodes will receive an extra-special bonus that harkens back to the days of Sonic & Knuckles. It's like Christmas in July.

Probably not, but let's hope.

Sonic 4: Episode II to Feature Tails. Could Co-Op be in the Cards?

Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I, the long-awaited return to 2D gameplay for the Sonic series, met with a mixed reception when it debuted on consoles in 2010. Part of its back to basics approach included ditching longtime partner Miles 'Tails' Prower, the flying fox with a voice that makes you just want to smack him. And of course, this guaranteed that Episode I was a single-player affair. But SEGA has recently released a teaser trailer for Sonic 4: Episode II that promises the return of Tails, along with classic nemesis Metal Sonic. Dare we hope that Tails' presence means that Sonic 2-style co-op will return as well?
